  1. Yet another fan of your works in progress John. Its a real treat to watch each and everyone of your builds from start to completion, the amount of work and the high level of detail is very impressive.
  2. No trailer planned at this stage as I dont have any in my kit stash. But if I was going to hook up a trailer I think a car carrier would be the go. With that being said ,il make the cover removable just in case I do get a trailer sometime in the future. Yep, Christian is an amazing builder for sure. He's got some serious fab skills. What I find impressive about his truck builds is most if not all are spot on replica's of 1:1's
  3. Thanks for the comments fella's much appreciated. Well for me it is, as I havent built a truck before .And not doing it box stock kinda makes it a bit challenging doing some of the custom work and mods.
  4. Wow! What can I say that hasnt been already said. This is one of the best (1:24/1:25 ?) scratch builds I have ever seen. The amount of detail is incredible. And whats makes it even better, its an Aussie car being built by a South Aussie. Your a legend Shawn.
  5. Another small update. Made a turntable cover Made some new steps/battery box's Inlaid the checker/diamond/tread plate for a cleaner look. Checker/diamond/tread plate that was used.
  6. Decision has been made with the paint fella's,Tamiya TS-14 gloss black. Cheers for the suggestions though. Yep Dave that forum is where I discovered and view Christians builds. See he posted up a scale truck show of his own work.Christian's truck show
  7. Cheers for the showing this build in full sunlight Doc and as I was expecting it sure'ly does bling and colour shift.
  8. Some very impressive scale engineering and craftsmanship going on into your build Dave. Here I was thinking the mods and custom work im doing my Peterbilt was challenging, but you mate are on a whole other level when it comes to a challenge and executing it with some serious skill. Top class work keep at it. .
  9. I find building a quick simple curbside or a change of subject helps me prevent burning out or loosing interest.
  10. Nah, nothing wild planned for the paint Doug, just going to be painted boring ol black.
  11. Thanks Gordon Thanks James, thats the look I was trying to achieve. Your welcome,as ive said before I try my best to post up qaulity pics.
  12. Thanks Dave,il be sure to go check your RC build. Hadnt thought about door visor's,might be worth considering though,il look into it.Thanks for the suggestion Ive yet to work out what im going to do for a front bumper yet.So that would be good if you could share how to eliminate some of the gap between the grille and bumper. Yep,the french modeller is Christian (Pete18 on this forum I think) is a huge inspiration and idea's provider for this build. Thanks mate, Yeah Trick my Truck (C.S.M) provided a little inspiration.
  13. Thanks David, the lower bend/elbow on the stacks had me stumped for a while as to how and what to use. Thanks for the kind words Robert.Good to hear and look foward to seeing your custom. Like I said in the opening post I aint a truck fan but I do like the custom rigs very much. Im way out of my element on this truck build but im trying. All the ideas and tricks have been inspired by other peoples builds and 1:1's. Fingers crossed it turns out the way I envision it in my head.
  14. Yet another small update. Made a visor from some thin aluminum sheet,It still needs some final shaping and improve the way it fits. I figured while I was test fitting and mocking it up to see how it looks id snap a couple pics
  15. Me too Doug. Another small progress update. Made some stacks. For the elbows on the lower part of the stacks,a section was cut from a plastic coat hanger. The stacks are 5/16 aluminum tube. Rough quick mock up for the moment, still need to fine tune their exact location and make some brackets to attach the stacks to the cab.
  16. Here is the p.e mesh that will be used for the grille.
  17. Thanks for the suggestion Doug. But I have already chose and acquired the mesh that will be used, will snap a pic to show what it looks like. Thanks Lucas.
  18. Killa paint work on this one Doc,would you please snap some pics in full sunlight to show much it bling's. Like the decals on the back window too.
  19. What Len said. All hail! David Thibodeau the king of carbon fibre decal application. High quality and flawless work.
  20. Another nice build Doc,well done. Look foward to seeing the other 2.
  21. Amazing and impressive, very creative thinking and use of Lego bricks.
  22. Wow!,looking killa so far.
  23. Very Small update. Done a bit more work to the rear bumper/light bar. Marked out and drilled holes for the tail lights. Cut to length then polished some (3/16) aluminum tube for the light surrounds Cut spacers for the lights (craft rhinestones) to mount on. Surrounds and spacers temporarily installed Temporary install on the lights
  24. Thanks again for the comments fella's. Dont mind at all. To make the rear guards/fenders I chopped up a toothpick container for the top radius and the rest is styrene. I will try piece together a small how to,explaining and showing how they were made.
