To me, it's more of a curiosity as to why they are doing this. I haven't bought a Ferrari kit in years. Not since the early 2000s any way. The 1980s 288 GTO is still my favorite.

Last summer I asked the local store to stock this magazine and they said they couldn't. Today I finished canvasing the B&Ns in the Austin area today. None of them had an issue in stock, though they all said it was on the list of things they could carry. They all said to check in weekly, that they never knew what magazines would come in when. I did mention that I had been asking B&N corporate to follow up on availability for me, so maybe they will be more likely to carry it regularly. If they can carry 15 different RC plane magazines, tons of model train magazines and all the wood working stuff, I think that a few model car magazines is not too much to ask! We'll see. I do know that bugging corporate tends to yield results, so I'll keep up with that.

Since Moebius has released one of my choices, I would now love to see a new tool of the various 1957-1966 Ford trucks. I would also love to see the MPC annuals gradually backdated with interchangeable tooling inserts so that they could be released periodically in different year models not just the last one that it was changed to. Some of the Malaise-era cars would be nice too. Pintos, Vegas and Monzas, Oh My! Maybe a nice Cordoba or Ford Fairmont? Yes I know this just proves I am old.

You might try this for the stars.... Hobby Lobby sells an Alumilite two part mold putty that you can use like Silly Putty and then it hardens out into a silicone mold that makes a good mold for surface details. I use it whenever I need to copy a piece of trim or a nameplate or something.

I just remembered I bought the two different kit versions with the idea to build a copy of my 1:1 US market 1989 Escort GT. I decided it was beyond my skills to convert it and then not too long after I was behind a Semi truck that lost the entire rear wheel set that holds up the trailer. It bounced and squished my poor little car. Kind of lost the will to try.

I went to the Mother In Law's, She Who Must Not Be Named! over the holidays and I do indeed have the AMT and the Revell US versions of this car. I was going to bring them back and grabbed the wrong box. It wasn't all bad though. The box I brought had two of the Revell BRE 510s and two Revell Golfs (Golves? Nah), one the street custom and the other the Valvoline racer. I'll see what I can do with those.

I was thinking how it would be cool to a Chevy Dually with the yuuuuge gas tank in the bed! I used to do fantasy Cannonball type cars as a kid. I really loved my 1980 MPC Trans Am with the driving lights on the front and the gas tank in place of the back seat. It's now been re-released. I need to recreate that one of these days!

I needed some for a Rally car project one time that had the brand logo. I searched the internet and found a picture of a set of them on theBay and printed it out in color on nice paper. Clearcoated it and cut them out and used them.

I've always assumed you all know about this, so I never mentioned it. If so please feel free to mock. For years I have been using the plastic For Sale and Keep Out signs as stock for scratchbuilding. They come in a couple of sizes and some times you can find different thicknesses. They have printing on one side, so you have to work with that, but to me it's no biggie. The best part is they are pretty cheap and the 18x24 size are great for doing siding on a trailer or a building front. I even used one sheet for a vacuum form project. I've also found some signs in a really thin steel that is pretty flexible. Plus if like me you live in an area without a lot of hobby stores, you can find these at any hardware store or Walmart. Anyway, there you go.

Wild Bill's Hobbies carries it in the Dallas area. Unfortunately, I can't drive 3 hours very often...

So glad to ear this. I will check tomorrow. They haven't had it before. I really hope they have it now. The closest hobby store that stocks it to me is 3 hours away in Dallas.

I've managed to get some. The 75 Firebird Formula, the Manx Dune Buggy and the 76 Datsun Truck and most of the ones that have been reissued in the last few years. I still want to find most of the 70s era MPC annuals, especially the Pintos and Vegas. If MPC/AMT were to reissue the old annuals, I would be sure to pick up all of them.

You might look at one of these. I bought one years ago and turned it into a stock 2-door wagon. I didn't finish anything this year. I did start a bunch of kits and I made a huge mess of my work area. I actually thought I would have the Dajiban and the Datsun truck finished well before Christmas. Then I messed up the van paint and had to redo it and lost the front suspension and radiator for the Datsun. The Outlaw Boxter is waiting on mirrors and inspiration for the taillights. The Jaws Blazer is stalled and the Jaws 2 Jimmy is not cooperating. On the plus side, I have a good start for 2016! LOL!

I have noticed that it can weaken the joints on old tube glue. Haven't noticed any effect on epoxy and not much on super glue types, though it does seem to weaken it a little.

You can go for a safari look. I can't seem to post pictures right now, but you could do one up in a Camel Trophy look.

Not many Hummer H2 models I guess. Most are kind of cheesy with rubber band tires, but there are some cool ones too. It just depends on what you are looking for. You might also look at the stuff done to other vehicles like the Rovers or Gelandewagens for ideas.
