  1. How about why go thru all this trouble to post this, then find fault with it.?
  2. Why not just modify the Franklin Mint '53 to as close as possible.
  3. "And I know for a fact that some paints (particularly automotive paints) were not made to be heat-dried" This is news to me. Can you give a source for this? Body shop suppliers sell and promote many kinds of driers( Heat lamps etc) for speeding the curing of paint work. Time is money in body shops, Anyone here work in body repair daily have any comments on this? Thanks
  4. Tamiya has a spray called bare metal in the AS line.Looks convincing to me.
  5. Nice! The one I started languishes in the box.
  6. Glad to see it's a 3M product. (I'm a retired 3M'er)
  7. I think you did fine with this build!
  8. Has there been any word on a P.E. or resin or 3d Printed item? Thank you.
  9. NICE!!!
  10. The large diameter drive shaft is possibly a torque tube set up.
  11. I too missed this one ( I won't get into a rant about HOW this forum is structured) but glad someone brought it back up. I have two of these in the stash and if I can build one half as good I'll be ohtay with that. Great work.
  12. I'd say the base is chevy S-10 beyond that.....
  13. Any one look at the date of the original post?
  14. I've only started the Lindberg one. Very finicky chassis (IMHO). Nice body. The Revell kit has the scissor doors. I haven't opened it so can't comment. It does look like a 2 door though, Can't see any door lines for the rear door on the box art.
  15. LINDBERG makes a 1/24 plastic kit of the Charger SRT8 REVELL makes a 1/25 plastic kit of the Charger SRT8 You would have to fill in the door lines of the rear door and re-scribe the back line of the front door. 2 door cars usually have longer doors than 4 door cars.
  16. Oh shoot! I was going thru a pile of wheels and saw those I figured who would want them and thru them away.
  17. From experience here's how I rate ones I know about: !/16th Fujimi Porsche 959 is very good IMHO !/12th Mono/revell Testarossa is okay, but toylike. Could be worked into a nice piece with some Aftermarket. !/16th Revell Camaro/firebird Very toylike GREAT tires though.
  18. I thought(read?) that the Corvette had something unique> Hardtop?or script?
  19. Excellent person to deal with. Got his upgrade parts for the Gunze Cobra Daytona.
  20. I used to do that when I lived in IILAnnoys, Here in AZ (Mesa) My screened in patio serves the same purpose
  21. I've been using a degreaser that I get at a store named Smart & Final. $4.90 a gallon when you buy four. It works as good as SC and the same conditions apply. Use it warm.
  22. Would have to know if Oil or diaphragm. I have a oil-less diaphragm and when it was struggling I removed the head and found some foreign material in it and cleaned out the cylinders and wiped them down with some silicone spray on a cloth. I think some debris from the plastic filter found it's way in. It was fine after this and still working today.
  23. Thanks Dave let's see if this works! Hi Dave . That worked! I could not reply in personal message though.
  24. WoW I think I'll take that resin '54 Merc I have and get started on this! If you like Plastic you could modify the Lindberg '53 Ford . Just chop the top, modify the rear quarters, scratch up a front bumper/grille and few dozen odds and ends. Just about the time you finish they'l announce a new issue.
