I'd applied CA glue (same 'red bottle' stuff which HPI Guy uses -- great stuff!) and reset the door cards. That was around 1300 today; now it's 1805, and I'm going to check the assembly shortly. The main issue is that there aren't any positive locating marques -- I find that unacceptable on a modern-design, modern-tool (albeit, 24 years old now !) kit. The bed's interior walls were easier, as I'm not painting the kit's body (other than the vinyl top, the black on the rocker panels, etc., and requisite trim (both foil and Molotow, depending). However, the interior is a... um... 'female dog' to assemble with the tedious scraping-off of the paint at the 'glue here' marques. Certainly, the 'slop' on the dashboard mounts' slots, and the rear interior bulkhead rail don't help matters any.

That is some great effort! The way which you 'eliminated' the roof panels ('T'-Tops) is perfection. I truly enjoy the colours you have selected for this kit; they are perfect.

I'm having fun building this great kit; I'm making some real progress (unusual for me), but have met a roadblock: assembling the interior. For the life of me, I cannot get the door cards to adhere to the floor pan! Been trying to assemble it in a similar fashion that I'd employed to assemble the bed. However, unlike the bedsides, there's no sufficient area for me to 'tape-and-glue' (tape the assembly together, then 'tack' it in-place with Tamiya Green Thin, then remove tape and brush-on Plasti-Struct adhesive at the joints and sides). For those of you whom have built this kit: How in the devil did you assemble that obstinate interior? Thanks much!

Thanks much for that info. Saves me from buying an entire kit (not that I'm adverse to having and building a '69 Corvette Coupe) just for its induction. -

That's the one. I've seen it in the Yenko coupe as well (that one's already disco'ed). I'm afraid that I don't understand your stating that there's ''no manifold or carbs.'' -- the air cleaner is a facade? Thanks for your reply and your help. -
Ostensibly, the Revell 1969 Corvette Coupe has been discontinued. I snoozed and I losed -- I've been wanting its Tri-Power induction (including air cleaner) for a couple of pending projects. Does anyone offer that L71 in resin? Is that engine available in any other Revell 1/25 scale kits (1965-1967 Corvette, for example)?

First citation was my fault completely (a few subsequent citations were bollocks). I ran a stop sign. I was testing the handling prowess of me 1972 Swinger on some slightly-twisting-but-flat roads in the wealthy part of town. I came-up on the stop sign too hot (I'm sure that the officer heard the screaming 205-75 14's on those turns, and was just waiting for my dumb arse to arrive) -- figuring that if I hit the power disc brakes, the wheels would lock and I'd be cruising-through anyhow. So I ''went for it''. Nighttime... no one around... about 2200 hrs. He was parked on a side street cul du sac; the moonlight shining off of the lightbar's plated frame. Oh, well. My fault-- I 100% owned up to it. Back then (1989), one could either pay the tax (''fine'') or go to traffic school. I chose the latter : $30 vs. $300. By 1993, those days were over. Another story for another time.

Benson & Hedges Blues Festival on Saturday, 9th June 1990 at the Pacific Amphitheatre. John Lee Hooker. Stevie Ray Vaughn (one of his last performances). Joe Cocker. Cab Calloway. Dr. John... countless others. Seven hours of pure delight! Oddly (or not), across The Pond, Cabaret Voltaire was playing at The Lyceum (don't know which one), and the entire performance was recorded.

Silly enquiry: is the Revell 1968 Corvette a different kit than the 1969 coupe (i.e., not up-dated to a '69 model from its 1968 origins)?

The ''Prospect'' of a 1974 Dodge Monaco could provide the pallet for numerous police agencies' marques & livery. To create a correct Bluesmobile, one would have to roach it up properly: cracks on the dash pad; an 8-track player shoved-into disused A/C vents; a slice/cut/tear on the driver=side interior door panel; one windscreen wiper only; various dents, etc., etc. Since the 13 Bluesmobiles used in the film were all former C.H.P. models, the dreaded A.I.R. Pump would need to be an option (you lucky residents of ''The Other 49'' didn't have 'smog pumps' on Chryslers until 1975). Maybe by the 45th anniversary of the film (2025), we'll have a sweet, properly executed, multi-options 1974 Dodge Monaco available.

L.A.M.F. finally got a proper release under the so-dubbed L.A.M.F. : The Found '77 Masters.

1/25 AMT '65 Chevy Nova "Twister" AWB Funny Car

Mea culpa. I didn't realise that it was an actual kit / combo. I'd rather have seen that issue instead of the still-great-but-not-as-cool recent issue with the trailer.- 33 replies

What did you learn to drive in?
1972coronet replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I didn't get my licence until I was 19 -- I was too immature (in me mind) to possess a licence at 16. Partly, I was defeated due to me dad selling the family 1969 Dart 'Custom' two door hardtop (273/ auto; white with green interior, etc.) for $100.00 in Sept. 1985. I was able to practise in me friend's beat-up 1973 Duster (318/auto); my parents' vehicles at that time (1986) were both manuals (1986 Plymouth Horizon and 1986 Ranger), and I just... couldn't... get... it. Seemed like too much effort to me -- just didn't make any sense in me head, all of those requisite movements. So, I learnt to drive in a... 1985 Citation 5 door! Haha! It was some driving school's instructor's personal car. What a chunk! I bought a 1972 Swinger in August 1989. That's what I took --and passed-- my driving test in. I haven't operated a manual trans vehicle in 30 years. The last of which was a friend's 1978 Porche 924 and his 1991 Toyota Hilux (man, that clutch pedal was stiff!). -

Does the U.K. , et al., still distinguish operator's licences with 'manual' on them? Ostensibly, they used to -- me friend's mum and dad are from England (transplants from Italy and Russia, respectively) and me friend told me that licences had a provision for whether or not one was qualified to operate a manual-trans-equipped vehicle. -
What would YOU like to see as a model

I've swapped-in an MPC 'generic' Chrysler big block to the 1976 Dart Sport annual back in 1990. Fits like it's supposed to be there. -

1972coronet replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Could easily be done. A new grille and a plain tail lamp panel for the MPC-come-AMT 1975-1976 Dart Sport would *suffice*... I'd be happy with resin or 3D parts for a conversion. -

Can't beat Tamiya's aerosols. But like everything else, those paints' retail prices have skyrocketed over the last two years. -
Using Dupli-Color Engine Paint

I've sprayed engine paints over Tamiya primer (aerosol) and el cheapo primers (color place, etc.).
