GMC "Big Block" V6 and 702 "Twin-Six"
1972coronet replied to 1972coronet's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
*Maybe* a Chevrolet 'W' engine could be used as the basis . The rocker covers and heads are close ; probably a cut-and-invert would work . I believe that the spark plugs are on the intake-side of the ports ? Ignition distributor on the rear of the block , sticking straight-back ? As a side note ; the early engines' biggest handicap was its atomiser : a tiny , single-pot carb ! I think that a 305 (ad seq.) would look sweet with a 4v71 Jimmy sitting-atop . -
GMC "Big Block" V6 and 702 "Twin-Six"

I'm not even certain that any of the GMC "big block" V6 engines ( 305 , ad seq. ) were ever produced in-scale , let alone the "Twin-Six" . I've been wanting to plunk a Jimmy'ed GMC V6 into a Street Rod ! -
At the risk of sounding patronising ; Rick , please accept my most sincere condolences . Back in 2005 , my mum was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer ; she succumbed to its advances on 4th Octobre 2005 at 2345 HRS . I was holding her hand when she passed . Keep strong , Rick .

Harts Parts is excellent ! I purchased his 'LO23' interior conversion for the Revell 1968 2-n-1 Dart GTS / Hurst , and it is beautiful ! Highly recommended ! -
HA ! It's so disgusting ! Some-thing so Jurrasic about smelling Soy and chicken while consuming oatmeal ! BARF !

The MPC-come-AMT "Roscoe's Patrol Car" (a 1977-1978 Dodge B-Body Monaco) kit has some nice firearms and lighting in its discreet packaging .

Daily : Open-mouth chewing and other food-related sounds / noises from my dad . Once a Week : The microwaving of Chinese food leftovers while I'm eating breakfast (same person as mentioned above) . Ad Infintium : Brain dead people ; unnecessary traffic jams ; unattended-to children ; noisy children ; unsyncronised traffic lights ; and , my deteriorating health (a gradual process consisting of arthritis , pinched nerves , herniated discs , failling eye sight , and just a general mid-life crisis ).

The *unmentionable* song is on The Velvet Underground & Nico (1966) , which is colloquially known as "The Banana Album" The last two songs are from White Light / White Heat (1967)

Now that would be cool ! An M-100 conversion ... Tailgate and what else ?

King Crimson -21st Century Schizoid Man !! Heaviest song ever recorded ? Easily up there ! I could cite a song or two by Lou Reed ; "Venus In Furs" , "Run,Run,Run" , one I cannot name here ( think : 1966 , and a song that starts with the letter "H" ) , "White Light / White Heat" , "Sister Ray" , just to name a few . I've got to come up with more recognisable lyrics , and thereforeto , more recognisable songs (!) .

I believe that Grump's 1967 Camaro started life in A/MP ( the 396 wasn't available early in production , IIRC ) then ended up in SS/C when the 396 became available . Some-one please correct me if I'm wrong with my info ( )

That Nicopolis car has a RPO V.I.N. : http://www.ramchargers.com/ . The website asserts that Nicopolis' car is the only legit Ramchargers SS/DA 1970 Hemi'Cuda ...

That's a great idea , Felix ! I wonder if the folks at the MECUM organisation would be interested in seeing your splendid work ? I absolutely LOVE that Corvette !

This bad boy is due for release next month ( http://www.round2models.com/models/amt/1953-ford-pickup ) and I can hardly wait ! While this kit has remained largely unchanged throughout its numerous reissues ( just decals , tyres , wheels , and plastic colour) , it's nice to see it being released this go-around in its original format ( including the custom wheel covers that were around for only the original release ). As a fan of the 1953-1955 F-Series ( 1956 is alright , too ... ) , I can't get enough of this classic AMT kit !

Modelhaus Kits, Rookie Question..
1972coronet replied to 10thumbs's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I've only ordered reproduction parts from Modelhaus (1972 Road Runner bumpers / tail lights / grille) , but I can vouch for the excellence of the parts ! Their service is definitely "old school" , in every capacity of the term (and I mean that sentiment in the complimentery way !) , so one's order is going to take 3-5 weeks . Well worth the wait ! The best thing about reproduction chromed parts ? No runner tabs to file / touchup ! -
How did the seller propose that he / she was going to package it ? I've only bought one P.E. set (MCG's 1969 Dart GT / GTS) from eBay ; the seller asked if a standard envelope ( typical letter-size ) with some cushioning was okay . I said , "Sure , so long as the fret doesn't get damaged , then that's fine ." I received the envelope , and I almost threw it out ! The seller's printing on the envelope was so perfect ( like mine is : legible !) that I thought its contents were junk mail (!!) . Hopefully you didn't unwittingly toss an envelope out that had the P.E. in it (!) . P.E. frets are tiny , even for 1/12 scale kits (unless they include side mouldings or other sizable pieces) .

So long as a car *looked like* the year it was competiting under , that was good enough for Super Stock . For an instance ; the triple black 1970 Hemi'Cuda convertible that's recently been restored . It was campaigned by Bill Bagshaw starting in c.1973 (complete with its $7,500 paint job !) as a 1971 in SS/EA . Its primary target was the SS/EA 1970 LS-6 Chevelle convertible (whose name and owners I've forgotten at this moment ...) . So , to the point : by all means (V.I.N. , etc.) , Bagshaw's "1971" Hemi'Cuda was a cosmetically-updated 1970 . NHRA (et al.) didn't check VIN's ; they were more concerned that a car look its represented --and classification-- model year . The 1971 convertible had its shipping weight "fudged" so that it "weighed 'more'" , so that model would qualify for SS/E(A). What I'm getting at : The alleged "Ramchargers'" 1970 'Cuda very well could have been a body-in-white 1972-1974 Barracuda hardtop , skinned as a "1970" . Good enough for SS/D(A) - SS/E(A).

MPC 70-74 Barracuda History/ Review
1972coronet replied to ChrisPflug's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It would be nice if Missing Link (or whom-ever) would make a conversion for the 1972-1974 models . Even basing a '72 - '74 Pro Stock on the existing Sox & Martin kit from Revell would generate enough sales !
