  1. You'd have to ask Boyd Coddington or George Washington about that one
  2. Wouldn't it be great if Round2 (et al.) were to market their snap kits toward the elementery schools ? Let's call it a "leave-your-electronic-leashes-OFF-for-an-hour-day" or some-thing to that effect . Firstly , if Round2 were to donate the kits to the schools , they'd certainly receive a tax write-off or tax credit , in addition to providing the most inexpensive and fully-effective Public Relations investment conceived ! Any-one else with me on this ?
  3. I would be all over that if the stock / two-wheel-drive parts were available ...
  4. The Sonics !!! An influential , inspirational , supersonic band that's underrated . Huge influence on the Garage bands and the Proto-Punk bands . How'd they sound ?
  5. Just like "Squeeze" ( Velvet Underground , 1973 ) : zero original members ( Cale got "fired" in 1968 ; Reed boned-out before 'Loaded' was released in 1970 ; Tucker didn't play on the aforementioned album ; and , Morrison left in 1971 . Doug Yule ( John Cale's *replacement* ) carried the band's name on from 1971-1973 , with all-new members . What's the MC5 sans Tyner (deceased , age 46 , in 1991) , Smith (deceased , age 45 , in 1994) , and Davis (deceased , age 68 , in 2011) ? Well , at least Kramer and Thompson don't intimate any sort of sembalence vis-a-vis a "reunion" (Okay , the D-K-T / MC3 shows are the only exception !). Now with 3/4 of the original Stooges deceased ( Alexander , age 27 , in 1975 ; the Asheton brothers : Ron , age 61 , in 2009 ; and Scott , age 64 , in 2014 ) , how can they go-on under that nomenclature ? Maybe a rekindling of the Kill Cities type stuff can be resurrected by Pop & Williamson ...
  6. "Excellent ... ha ha ha ... excellent ... !!"
  7. That's a solid drop-top Cad there , Dale ! I don't typically care for Daytons ; however , your utilisation of them here just looks appropriate .
  8. All of those T.V. programme "1972" Challenger and Barracuda convertibles were converted (or , cosmetically updated) 1971 models . Other 'phantom' 1972 convertible Chrysler 'E'-bodies which were featured in T.V. programmes : - Brady Bunch ( 340 / column-shift Torqueflite , GB5 Blue / B5 Blue interior ) - Mod Squad (340 / column-shift Torqueflite , medium gold metallic , black interior , black top , black stripes ** ) ** = the R/T model convertible was dropped by Chrysler for 1971 . The as-specified models received stripes which emulated the R/T stripes , but were a little longer in order to compensate for the lack of "R/T" callouts .
  9. Fe O : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron%28II%29_oxide
  10. Here's some photos of my two feline companions (my children , if you will ) . 'Molly Anne McCalico' is age 12 ; 'Oliver Nathanel Hawthorne Sabastian' is age 11 .
  11. FWIW : Missus Shahan-Bridges' Facebook page. She's a heck of a nice lady ,too ! https://www.facebook.com/shirley.s.bridges.9?fref=ts
  12. I also feel that the backlite (technical term for "rear window") on the resin kit looks too small . Certainly , the existing casting flash could make the specific-to-the-1970-only S.E. shape appear to be too small , as could other factors ( lighting , camera angle , etc. ). It's too bad that none of the fledgling resin casters / artisans have created the coveted 1970-1971 Dodge "W11" 14" Deluxe Wheel Covers ...
  13. That license plate number certainly has its place on a 1987 model year vehicle : "2" = "Golden State" series , passenger car "D" = 1987 calendar year issue The remaining alpha-numeric sequence is *arbitrary* . Here's What I Would Like To See ( In Regard To The Original Post ) : - 1971-come-1972 Barracuda convertible from The Brady Bunch - 1968-1969 Satellite police version (RK41-H8A / RK41-H9A) from Adam 12 - 1974 Monaco police car ( DK41-U4D ) from CHiPs , et al. - 1977 / 1978 Monaco police ( WK41-U7A / U8A ) - 1971 / 1972 Valiant Duel
  14. I'd have no problem giving $35 - $45 for a nice 16th scale kit (think : modified-reissue '55 Nomad from AMT) . For a newly-tooled 16th scale , I'd think that $45 - $60 would be reasonable ( think : all-new 1970 Barracuda ).
  15. "Excellent ... ha ha ha ... excellent ..."
  16. I'll toss my hat into the ring : 1.) Newly-Tooled 1955-1957 Nomad . Perhaps even a modified-reissue of the existing tooling of the old AMT 1/16 scale kits : - New custom version tyres and wheels (those S/ST's and those nasty Good Year tyres from the original must go !) - New custom engine upgrades (the turbo is dated !) - A full compliment of decals 2.) 1970-1971 Barracuda . - Offer both a hardtop and a convertible - All 3 models ( "BH" Barracuda , "BP" Gran Coupe , and "BS" 'Cuda ) 3.) 1971-1972 Demon - 340 and big block options Harry P. alluded to European subjects : 1.) Renault R5 Turbo 2.) BMW M6 (circa 1986-1988) Alpine
  17. Brandon - This is going to be a nice XX29J9B ! Just in case you're interested , Missing Link Resins makes and sells the correct 1969 - 1974 Dodge hubcaps .
  18. Check out that wrinkled quarter panel (just-forward of the wheel arch) ! Chemical Milling has its merits ... and its downfalls .
  19. Thanks , guys .
  20. "easing the heartbreak of psoriasis" , almost made me spit my coffee all over the keyboard ! HA HA HA !
  21. I was just made aware of this tragedy today ; on 6th July 2014 @ 0815 HRS , a long-time client and hell of a nice guy parished in a plane crash (he was the pilot) : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2693498/Father-49-dies-small-plane-crash-two-sons-law-widowing-wife-two-pregnant-daughters.html Eerily , my friend (and coworker ; the Assistant Manager) and his father witnessed the crash on that fateful morning , as they were boating on the lake (which I redundantly refer to as "Lake du Luc") . Apparently , my friend witnessed the "poof and plume" , completely unaware of the nature of the smoke ( ). You will be missed , Doug ! Thank you for , not only your business , but for being a hell of a great guy , too ! "See you when I get there , if they'll let me in."
  22. Permit me to add a couple of more carrots to this stew ; here's a link to the 1974 'Body Tooling Proof' Barracuda : http://barnfinds.com/one-of-none-1974-plymouth-barracuda/ This certainly qualifies as a Body-In-White !
  23. On the opposite end of that spectrum ; my dad (age 77) actually enjoys some of the music in my collection . He really likes John Cale 'Vintage Violence' (1970) , Television 'Marquee Moon' (1977) , Love ,'Forever Changes' (1967) , and Velvet Underground 'Velvet Underground' (1969) ! Your son will hopefully develop an appreiation for Dave Brubeck , etc. That kind of music takes real talent to compose , create , and perform , unlike Beiber , and his ilk .
