I was going to mention that exactly ; that the mule Hemi Barracuda was a based on a 1967 Formula-S 383 that was kickin' back in the Woodward Garage . It had '68 grilles ; not sure if the rear fascia was cosmetically-modified or not. I heard that the mule went to Sox & Martin . It'd be "easy" to authenticate , as '67 was the last year for the VIN to be mounted to the lower A-Pillar in the doorjamb .

I , too , would LOVE to see a new tooling of a 1970-1972 Chevelle ! The lack of Super Sport hood / trunk stripes on the 1972 Chevelle SS-454 kit was a source of irritation , without a doubt . Heck , I even utilised the LS-6 arrangement (an artifact of the 1970 version) on my build of the '72 ; I built that one for a friend . Black-onblack ; it was gorgeous ! Other than exterior cosmetic changes between the 1970-1971-1972 Chevelles (in addition to engine changes) , what other items were different ? Upholstery pattern(s) ? Perhaps an "All-Three-Years" option --repleat with period-correct hot rod upgrades-- would be in order !

Anyone got pics of this revitillised gem's contents yet ??? I'm going to build one as a 1976 : the Car & Driver test car from its March '76 issue ; the 360-powered model ! Here's what made the 1976 Dart Sport with the 360 so special : - The 360 was no longer a separate model . It was available in any trim level of the "29" bodystyle ; - It was rated at 220hp , which was stellar in 1976 ! ; - True dual exhaust without a catalytic converter to be found ! 1976-only items which have no baring on the 1/25 scale replica : - Foot-operated parking / emergency brake ; - Interior rear view mirror was attached directly to the windshield . Only exterior difference was the parking lamps ; the lenses themselves were now ambre-coloured , whereas the 1975 & earlier models had clear lenses with "1157-A *" bulbs . * "1157-A" superceded to "1157-NA" ( Natural Ambre versus Ambre-coloured coating over a clear bulb ).

Fred - That is one of the best Pro Stock replicas I have seen in a while ! "Dyno" Don would be proud . I am not certain what engine was in the original car ; either a 351-C ( "Cleveland" ) or a Boss 429 ( Doubt that it was a "385-Series" 429 wedge ) . From what I understand , this car was retired and then sold to some-one in Orange County , California . It is alleged that it was in a serious wreck at Orange County International Raceway some-time in the late 1970's. -

Looks like a native of the Southwest U.S. ! Dashpad cracked and split ; faded / discoloured fascia ; peeling trim ; sunbleached mirrors ... about a 10 year old Calif car ! On the plus side : no T-Tops ! One doesn't encounter too many '79 & up Mustangs without T-tops ! An '82 GT has got to be a collectable piece now . The lack of the "Michelin Metric Tyre" package's 390mm wheels is of little surprise . Are those tyres obsolete ; or does Michelin produce them on a special order basis ? -
Alan's and Chris' 318 / 360 engines look great ! I have long balked at the MPC 318-340-360 engines' unscalled appearance and plain , lacklustre details --- when they're built in purely box-stock form . Alan's and Chris' small blocks are real inspirations ! Heck , even just adding ignition wires ( properly spaced , as both engines featured showcase) improves this otherwise plain engine's visual appeal ! Alan - Great work on your '77 ! "Spitfire Orange" (a factory colour in '77) looks quite like Tor-Red (colloq. , Hemi Orange) ! Isn't it funny how Chrysler was still employing bias-ply tyres on their cars as late as 1977 ! Radial tyres were still an option on the F-bodies (excepting , perhaps , the Police Package cars , with their "GR70-15" size) . Chris - I can't wait to see your 'Runner completed ! Good use of that hideous "custom" vinyl top !

Tim - You have provided a perfect reply to my inquiry . Thanks much for your input (as always) . And , yes , Mopar Action is my number one source for not only its tech articles (Ehrenberg's advice has helped me with my '72 Coronet on many occasions , directly or indirectly) , but for the convoluted humour of its authors / contributors ( "Tony DeFeo" , indeed ! Nice nom-de-plume ! Ha ha ha ...) , and its featured vehicles . VRM ( I apologise for not noting your true name ) - Hamtramck Historical is an invaluable source for info and original brochures , photos , etc. If properly navigated , one could build a perfect scale replica of virtually any year MoPar ! In addition to the items you vyed for : I'd like to see separate vinyl top trim (e.g. , the stainless trim which ran from quarter window , around the backlight / sailpanel , and back to the opposing-side's quarter window ) and separate wheel house mouldings -

Another possibility regarding the rocker covers ( colloq. , "Valve Covers" ) is this : there were two different arrangements for Hemi valve covers in 1970 ! - "49 State" models (i.e. , non-California-destined builds) had the 1969-arrangement . - "Cleaner Air Package" , code "N95" models had a California-specific breather (in addition to , and something completely un-detectable in 25th scale , would be the fuel tank cap) . This was a concession to Evaporative Emissions Controls ( "EEC" ) ; no more raw , unburned hydrocarbons (gasoline vapours) were vented to the atmosphere . A return line was implemented ; this line was a predecessor to the 1972 model year's Charcoal Cannister ( 50 State ) , but without the myriad vacuum lines . It consisted of a Crankcase Breather with two ports ; one --the larger-diametre port-- attached to the air cleaner's base ; the smaller-diametre line connected via a short-length rubber hose to a steel return line . This was the Vapor Return Line , which was ported to the fuel tank . PCV was , in es , unchanged from its prior duties . I don't know what "1:1" car that Revell based its (excellent) 1970 HemiCuda on --if at all . Perhaps Tim Boyd , et al. , could shed some light on Revell's "1:1" reference materials ? (P.S. : Casey , et al. : If this posting is in the incorrect one-of-two threads about this kit , please feel free to move it to its appropriate section ) -

No problem , Fast Fish . Back in 2004 , I remember being appalled at the inclusion of 1975 & later dash and chassis upon opening my 1974 Road Runner . I thought , Oh , well , at least I've got some spare 1971 MPC Road Runner dash boards around , as well as one or two MPC 1969 Charger chassis , so ... I also added the brake booster / master cylinder and a few other parts from the AMT '71 Charger to the 1974 kit's plain engine compartment , just to dress it up . Our fellow 'Plastic Fanatic' , Luc Janssens , gets credit for mentioning the AMT 1971 Charger R/T for its chassis , etc. , as the perfect amphiviate for the Dukes' Road Runner's generic chassis . -
I applaud Round2 for practically every-thing they create / recreate / restore ; the new tyres are without a doubt one of their finest investments ! For me , personally , it's a nostalgic encounter . Seeing many of those MPC annuals and AMT annuals from my childhood creates a warm rush of 5-Hydroxy-Tryptophen (serotonin) and D2 (Dopamine ) and all of the fond recollections of innocence ; the basement toy department at Sear's ; the toy dept at Hinshaw's , and ; other toy stores at various malls . That is what sells these reissues . I purchase them --old MPC annuals and AMT kits-- with complete knowledge of the kits' actual contents . On the flip-side of the same hand ; the so-dubbed "Retro-Deluxe" releases ( think : 1960 Starliner , 1962 Catalina , 1970 Baldwin-Motion Camaro , etc.) are a splendid idea ! Now there's some evidence of functioning grey matter in Round2's art direction's think-tank ! Those days of Racing Chumps , RC2 , et al. , were a definite low water mark . I don't know whom their art director was , or whom approved that hideous box art arrangement , but it was ostensibly some-one who's probably in exile in Russia , sharing meatbread with Edward Snoden . My only complaint about the hobby in general ? Three little words whose impact is atomic : Made In China . And , for the record , I do not chastise Round2 , Revell , et al. , for their decision to *relocate* . Furthermore , I'll refrain from alluding to any political / economical rants in regard to my prior statement ( ) . But , I divulge ...

The so-called "improved dash and chassis" were merely a corrective measure , as the RC2 (et al.) issue from the early 2000's had the dash from a 1975-1978 Dodge / Plymouth 'B'-body , and the exhaust from the same (single exhaust with a catalytic converter ... the biggest offence in my mind ! ). So , Round2 *simply* added the 'correct' 1971-1974 dash , and the same under-detailled "generic" chassis from its 1968-ish through 1974 promo / kit line . -
Good to know that this release includes stock parts ! While I'm not really a full-fledged fan of Foose's works , I certainly do appreciate said work from an artist's persepctive, and froma gear head's perspective . He gets paid well to perform 'x' amount of modifications to a customer's vehicle ; who in their right mind would turn that down ?

I heard that ! I still remember the 1988 "merger" of Monogram and Revell . I got into an argument with a friend over the origins of the 1988 Motorcraft Pro Stock Thunderbird ; I asserted that its origins are of Monogram tooling , whereas he saw the "Revell" name on the box and summarily dismissed it as "junk" . He just couldn't see beyond the name ; he was jaded by Revell's garbage kits from our youths in the 1970's ; his disdain was justified . On the other hand , I saw a cool then-new 1988 Thunderbird body as a Pro Stock and said , Yes !

I'd figured that one solid month would be about right ; however , I forgot to factor-in the extra USPS , et al. , workload during Novembre-Decembre . No biggie . Beside that , I have to keep in-mind that Modelhaus is a Cottage Industry after-all .

I've got to get me one of these 1/12 Z/28 kits again . I had one when the kit was new (1988) ; first model I ever airbrushed ! So long as the Foose edition has factory stock parts included , I'll pick one up .

My sentiment exactly . The natural satin-esque sheen of the plastic is perfect . I've left the white interior parts alone on the two or three 1971 Nash Bridges HemiCuda convertibles I've built (one of which was EV2 Tor-Red ) . I feel the same way about black-coloured plastic ; the sheen is perfect for K-Members (think : Monogram 1971 Satellite and 1971 HemiCuda custom) and other suspension parts . -

In full-recognition of the "time-of-the-year" and the inharent mail backlog : I'm still waiting for the 1972 Road Runner parts I ordered three weeks ago . I'm not stating this as to knock on Modelhaus (et al.) ; just anxious about getting those bumpers and whatnot !

Hood Pins were an option , even on 198 /6 powered models . As Casey stated , the Duster 340 wasn't available from the factory with the hood scoops , only its "look-alike" the Twister (the Demon 340 look-alike was called "Sizzler" ; just an FYI) had the scoops (and special "Twister" hood paint treatment). In order to *correctly* replicate the factory appearance of the scoops : - Black scoops had Organasol [sp] painted trim at their openings - Body-colour scoops had plated trim (not sure if the trim was chrome-plated pot metal of if it was stainless . Not impairative in 25th scale ) .

I'm hoping that Round2 will release modified-reissues of the class AMT 1/16 scale '55 Nomad , '55 Bel Air , et al. What do I mean by modified ? - New custom wheels . The Cragar SS/T's are bland . - New tyres for the custom wheels . Those hideous snow tyres are junk ! The stock version's skinny Firestones are just fine (but a "flip-side" pad print would be cool , too : wide white on one side , an pinstripe white on the other). - Engine options . The turbo was okay for its time , but ... Perhaps the fledgling kit manufactures need to better promote any of their largeĀ® scale kits ...

Tough call between two kit , one year apart : 1.) 1985 Mustang SVO , Christmas 1984 . Mum bought it for me along with a spray can of Testors dark blue metallic . 2.) 1985 Corvette 1/8 scale , Christmas 1985 . Paternal grandmother bought it for me from Hinshaw's ( an upscale department store with only two locations ; Whittier and Arcadia ). It was an expensive kit , too ! She probably gave $50.00- $60.00 for it , which was huge money in 1985 ! Both represent sentimental value . The SVO and that blue metallic paint ; blue officially became my favourite colour at that moment . First kit that I ever had to prime-coat ! Going from red to blue was no small feat for me neophyte capabilities . The Corvette . What can I say ? I wanted that kit since its release , but couldn't afford it on my meager mow-lawns-and-perform-odd-chores-around-the-neighbourhood budget ! My friend whom hailed from a well-heeled family got his "Big-A@@" 'Vette with zero effort .
