  1. The AMT 1971 Charger R/T has a nice "generic" 1971-1979 Dodge / Plymouth "frame" (All Chryslers from 1962 & on were UniBody) and suspension . Not sure if you're going to have to extend it for use on the 4 door , but I (mildly) doubt it. Go ahead and also use the Charger's engine bay , engine and TorqueFlite trans . If you want to get even more detailled , make the Charger's diff look like an 9.25" (very similar in appearance to a Dana 44) , as 1974 was the last year for the 8.75" (drop-out carrier) diff . Lettuce see some pics of your build !
  2. Definitely a cool link , Ken ! I was scoping out the Cali plates ; and while there were some discrepencies with years-of-issue , the rest was good enough . Now , here's my #1 favourite plate of all time : MICHIGAN 1976 !
  3. That colour looks even nicer in that light , Mike ! I hope that my reply didn't seem as though I was questioning your choice of colour here ; quite the opposite ! Truly , I was more intrigued by the availability of that colour , as I'd never seen it before (or perhaps I just passed it over without even perusing it ?) I applaud "breaking-the-norm" , and you've consistantly delivered in that arena . I also truly enjoy the accompanying stories to your builds as well . Being of creative capacity myself (visual artist and creative writer) , I always dig on multimedia presentations .
  4. Looks great to me , Daniel ! You are on your way to a great start ; and there are a lot of nice and friendly folks around this forum . Please do not be concerned with any perceived language barriers . Personally , I try to make an effort to type without any contracted words ( "do not" versus "don't" , for example ) , and any translation will be made easier for you (or any of our brothers in non-English-speaking countires ). I am looking forward to watching your progress and am looking forward to seeing more of your models here .
  5. Sweet build , HIPPIE DUDE ! I was looking forward to seeing a psychedelic paint scheme ; however that black with white lettering is perfect as well ( not all psychedelic artwork is in colour ; most of my work's done with a black Gel pen !). Any under bonnet shots of that Hilborn-topped Mark IV powerhouse ?
  6. Well , what-ever that 70's rollerskate's name was ... Guess I'll have to "wiki" it and see about its country-of-origin ...
  7. WOW ! That is NICE , Steve ! Wasn't the Fiesta based upon the Mazda 323 ; or was it a Kia of some sort ? I can't recall ... Used to see 'em everywhere when I was a kid !
  8. The Charger's v.i.n. is listed (XP29G8) , but ... The "Check Engine" light only adds to its value , as that shows that tis engine is doing something . I threw my hat in the ring @ $15, 001.64
  9. Loving your build more and more ! What kind --if any-- of detailling did you do to those gorgeous Corvette wheel covers ? From what I can see , it looks like a red outline (emulating a red-painted wheel underneath ?) and some dull painted recesses . Thanks !
  10. Yep ! . I'd love to find the signifigance of that series of characters ...
  11. Does anyone include an interior kit along with the body ? The interiors from the Revell '68-'69 Darts are totally incorrect (excepting the console / shifter) for the 1970-1972 Darts . Also , the resin 1970 Darts I've seen were sans windwings ! That's too much intricate work to hand-make for an arthritic fool like me !!
  12. I ne'er even noticed that ! Ha ! Apparently , that's the case . Stands to reason , as "Death Proof" was based upon the story of a madman stunt driver ( McQueen performed *many* of his own stunts ; but it was Hickman whom truly was a Stuntman !)
  13. Grotheer had some of the best looking cars out there ; easily in my personal Top 5 . Caine440 is right ; by 1972 , Chrysler was all but entirely factored-out of many racing classes / sanctions ; and truly , any non-Wedge engine was factored-out (Ford's Boss 429 and Chrysler's 426 Hemi were chief among them) with "Canted Valve" engines not far behind (335-Series / 385-Series / "Shotgun" Fords , iirc. , and Mark IV Chevy ). At least in Pro Stock that was the case . By early-mid year '72 , Demon-Duster-Dart Sport models rapidly replaced Barracuda / Challenger models in short order .
  14. "JJZ 109" = Steve McQueen's Mustang " RDR 838 " = Bill Hickman's Charger Both in "Bullitt" (1968). It should be noted here that the Mustang's plate is *incorrect* for a 1968-model vehicle , as "J" was a 1964-issue letter . The Charger's plate is correct for 1968 ( "R" = 1968 ) .
  15. Mike , I keep going over the idea of the colour choice ; I've never even seen Tamiya Metallic Brown until now ! Well , maybe I have seen it , but just didn't pay it any attention ... Can't wait to see that colour : 1.) In the light , and ; 2.) with the car completed (i.e. , with all its chrome and whatnot ). ** Addendum ** I should add that I applaud your decision to paint this Cad in an untraditional colour !
  16. I like the '67 GTX touches ! Looks like a precursor to the '70-'71 "S23" Fury
  17. Without a doubt , our hobby is a diminishing inverstment ! But , it's fun and still relatively inexpensive .
  18. I'd recommend that W409 use the transmission from the AMT 1957 (?) Chrysler 300 , as it's the correct , pre-1962 A-488 Torqueflite , complete with its Parking Drum / Ball & Trunion assembly . Naturally , this only applies if an automatic trans is desired . If you plan to use the transmission from the Chrysler 300 , remember to paint it Cast Iron (with a Steel-coloured pan) , as all pre-1962 V8 Torqueflites were cast iron ; the aluminum V8 T-Flites didn't appear until '62 ( A-904's were aluminum since their inception in 1960 , but those were all Slant Six transmissions ; they were originally called "TorqueFlite-Six").
  19. Tres bon ! How 'bout the other plate number ?
  20. Every-thing looks beautiful , Mike ! I'm most impressed with the way the tyres / wheels look . Those Redlines are nice !!
  21. 149 PCE (hint : blue/gold California plate). 1PCE149 (hint : blue/gold 7-digit Ca. plate ; and yes it's similar to the first one I posted ...)
  22. I saw that earlier today , and I had to look at its price a few times to make sure that the decimal was in the correct spot . Don't get me wrong ; that thing looks gorgeous , but ... five hundred bucks ?!? Looks like I'm in the wrong business !
  23. Exactly . Doubt it if anyone's dedicated it to resin ... ...yet
  24. Very cool . I did something similar a number of months ago . I bought a '69 Dart GTS (1995 Revell issue) off of eBay ; its glass was bad (tyres burns and random scratches) . Knowing that obviously the glass from the sub seq. '68 Darts is exactly the same , I knew that they'd work for the '69. In my email ("contact form") to Revell , I'd told 'em exactly what had happened . I simply requested a new set of glass for the '68 Dart , and asked them how much it'd be to have the replacement mailed to me . Obviously , I wasn't trying to replace defective-as-received-new parts . No reply / response . One week later , I receive a package in the mail ... ... the replacement glass ! They just sent it to me at no charge ! That's some excellent P.R. on their part . I emailed them with a heartfelt thanks .
