I was almost positive you have done this build before, and now I see this thread was from a while ago. See, Niko, your 409 Nicholson build is etched in my mind forever. All kidding aside though, can’t wait to see more.

Moebius F350 Wrecker
Brutalform replied to TopherMcGinnis's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I have three projects I really want to get done. Then I’ll probably be doing the same real soon. -
I have a bilge fan, and the power pack to run it, but I gotta get motivated to build a paint booth. I’m all finished with everything at the new house now, totally moved in, set up, and everything is 100% finished. Model room is all done too, except for the booth. Probably just a bit lazy from all the other work I did. I’m gonna definitely get one up and running after the new year.

Bored build New inspiration…
Brutalform replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Also, if I suddenly get bored with one of my dozen or so projects, I will move onto another project I normally do not build. I’ve been building a next gen nascar kit for my brother in law, and it is definitely a slump buster. I plans on doing more, actually. Ive only built one nascar car in the last 15 years or so. -
Bored build New inspiration…

I’ve been getting the body painted, foiled, and finished first lately. Then going back to start the rest of the build last, for this very reason you mentioned. -
Everyday there is always something new that they want us all to be concerned about.

Very nice job on the Dodge. It looks as if it came that way. Nice job on the foiling also.
-
Almost double in size. I thought they would be the same size as the snowplow trucks box, but you’d never get all the parts back in. Stuff fits in pretty nice. I always open kits nowadays to check and see if everything is in good shape.

Thanks Mark. I appreciate your help.

The site says they should have a few left over. Couldn’t get the wrecker to appear on their sites search. After doing a google search, MRU came up.

Just looked on Modelroundups site, and it appears they are all gone already.

Moebius F350 Wrecker

Yea, I’ve seen a few of the Plymouth AWB kits on there going for $40 plus dollars, plus shipping, when you can just go on Modelroundup and buy it for $34. -
He hasn’t replied, but visited the site recently, so I’m assuming the trade is no longer available.

Very cool build! I just love those old super and pro stockers. Nice job Scott.

As soon as it comes I have to open it up and check to see if the body isn’t warped. Just out of habit. -

Moebius 65 Plymouth AWB help needed.
Brutalform replied to Brutalform's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks Bill. I’ve searched for pics and got some ideas. If you go by the Moebius instructions, you’ll have it looking terrible. Since I broke off the pin that goes into the crank pulley, I cut a piece of 1/8 inch styrene rod, and glued it to the bottom of the belt where the pump is. Painted it, and used epoxy to fasten it to the crank pulley. Then I had to add a brace between the bracket and head, using .040 rod, as it needed to be more secure. I’m happy with the way it turned out. -
I sure miss Roger’s builds.

Moebius 65 Plymouth AWB help needed.

Sorry Alan, after I had it on it just didn’t look right, as the belt was not aligned with the water, crank, alt belt. So I took it off, and touched up the area where the paint got chipped. I think what needs to be done, is trim the post at the bottom of the pumps belt, so it fits into the hole in the crank pulley flush, and then install the fan, but not fully so it doesn’t hit the pump. I gotta check to see if there will be interference with the fan and radiator. Just finished the plug wires and called it a day. -

I figured it out. According to the instructions it all ties in behind the water pump pulley, and nothing about the bottom tab going into the crank pulley. But, obviously that’s not correct. Thanks anyway
