  1. Not sure if it was available, but people were definitely upgrading them then. I’ve seen many at shows, and in auction sites, all used in Hemi cars.
  2. The rims are horrible in my opinion. And the “real” 8 3/4 rear is one of the strongest, just as a Ford 9” or 12 bolt is, but the kit rear is tiny. Kit rear on right, and the rear I stole from the Dart Hemi kit grafted onto the Mobius is on the left.
  3. Started my A990 today. I already have a set of Fireball Modelworks steel rims all set up with resin wheel backs, to replace those ugly, supplied rims. Kinda disappointed that the rear, I suppose it’s a tiny 8 3/4, carried over from the Plymouth cars. That thing would break with a slant six engine in front of it. I took the rear from the Hemi Dart kit, and grafted it onto the Moebius set up. Other than that, it should be a nice build.
  4. Nice construction going on with this body. I’m following your progress as you kinda got my wheels turning now also.
  5. Possibly sand the bezels down and get some appropriately sized round styrene tube, and cut to the correct thickness, using a mini mitre tool, and glue them in place of the old ones.
  6. I saw this recently came back up. I almost forgot about it. I traded this WIP for a couple of 55 Chevrolet kits.
  7. There is always white primer. Also the Tamiya pink primer really makes different reds lay down nice, and the color pops.
  8. Nice subject matter for a build. Nice to see you diving into the new kit. Just got mine a few days ago, but I’ve been real busy making Halloween decorations for the wife. Hopefully I’ll get to the bench in a few weeks?
  9. Comet and a toothbrush works like a charm, even for resin. Great way to remove the release agent in the resin kits and parts. I wouldn’t use the alcohol on resin afterwards though. On the plastic it would be ok.
  10. King Jaffe Joffer R.I.P.
  11. Yuengling Lager, now you’re talking! The original, oldest brewery is about 40 miles from me.
  12. Hopefully the same things will not happen in other geographics. I was reading somewhere that over seven million pounds of food was recalled. I can’t help to think of Listeria when I think of Boars Head. When deregulation loosens the rules on these corporations, who’s to say it can’t or won’t happen again, with this company or any other for that matter?
  13. High standards really don’t exist anymore for many companies. All profit, with disregard for public safety. From the planes not being properly inspected, to the trains, and their brake systems, and now you can’t help to wonder, what is the next food I purchase at the store, that will poison my family? Pretty sad, to say the least.
  14. The only thing I use of the Boars Head brand, is the small jars of sweet Vidalia onions in their own sauce. No more though. Too bad.
  15. Boars Head listeria outbreak now has killed 9 people, with 50 some hospitalized. I don’t know about you, but I love a little mold and insects in my deli items. Just like Boeing, we need MORE deregulation. Everything is working out so well in the good ole USA! Can’t even trust the food you pay top dollar for anymore? SMH
  16. I 100% agree with you on this. They almost look like one of those little donut tire spare rims. I plan on incorporating a set of Joseph’s big and little stock Mopar rims on my A990 build. And when you add the wheel covers to the kit supplied Moebius rims, they look even worst.
  17. I’m almost positive the chrome tanker is the same kit as the older kits, except for the chrome plating, and newer decals. Getting the two tube halves together can be a bit frustrating, and the mounts that hold the tank to the frame must be just right, or they will have gaps between the tank and frame. I remember the fuel lines needing a lot of clean up to fit straight under the trailer. I also remember the axles being too long making the tires stick way out past the fenders, so making new ones is a must. Still a pretty cool old kit though. Still way better than some of the other kits out there. I love the old AMT truck models, no matter how much work they may need.
  18. I wish one of the companies would tool an oval tank in 1/25 scale as compared to the 1/32 Mack and tanker kit.
  19. Excellent job on a very trying kit. The colors and decals look perfect! I was a glutton for punishment, because after I built the Gulf tanker, I then built the Union 76 one right after. Then I bought one of the chrome plated trailers as well.
  20. Well, I just read in the news that the mail will be slowed even further as Dejoy plans on trying to make $3 billion in cuts. I’m to the point now where I try not to buy anything anymore. Not trying to sound like a grumpy old man, but I can rant with a huge list of all the things that totally suck anymore. Too much incompetence. No one to call and even complain to anymore. You only get some automated system when you do. I can’t think of any company that will pick up the phone, or reply to an email. No one cares.
  21. Thanks. No worries on the late reply. I only check in on the forum from time to time myself. I also have the plow truck in my stash. I also have Joseph’s conversion kit too. I was thinking of possibly building an earlier Ford truck with it.
  22. Living in whole different world now.
