Looking good Ron, that black laid down nice. -
Keeping the "fuzzies" off the paint.

I almost always remove my shirt especially when I’m painting bodies. Not so much for smaller parts though. And it really made a difference that I have noticed. You’d be amazed at the stuff that collects in your shirt, and ultimately ends up on your freshly painted model. -
What’s your favorite glue or adhesive?

Glue sniffers beware! -

My RBM order arrived today. I believe it was just a tad over a week for the wait. Too bad he’s closing shop. I just hope it’s to take a break, and not a permanent thing.

The only thing I dislike about this kit, is it’s lacking the vent window glass. Easy to make, but still annoying, for such a nice kit. -

Tamiya thin and regular cement. Bob Smith Industries gold, as it won’t fog clear parts. Watch crystal cement also for certain things like windows and headlights . I also use two part, 5 min epoxy most of all, as no scraping of paint or chrome to bond. Elmers white glue for mock ups, but I did try the micro liquid tape, but tossed it in the trash after I had a heck of a time removing it from a build. -

Superb build. You put a lot of work into this build. And it shows. Now to move on to another lightweight. -
Yea, that’s a lot of g’s that instantly reverses.

Sounds like a cool build. Why not just use the factory aluminum headers that the 421 had. Sought after, very rare headers that preformed extremely well back then. -
I looked at his site several weeks ago, and it looked all funky. Then I looked on it recently, like last week, and it was totally different, and easy to navigate. Then I spoke to Scott at Futurattraction concerning what lugs to use on his drag rims, and after that conversation, I ordered what I needed from RBM. Today as soon as you log onto the site, it displayed what Bill posted. I suppose this build will be shelved for a while. At least I made the deadline. Oh well…….

Oh nooooooo, I just ordered a 20 pack of lug nuts to install on my Futurattraction rims. Hope it’s not a six month wait.

Not sure if the 1:1 really sure that high in the front. Looks like it’s lifting upon the launch. -

I agree with the rims. The rims and hub caps on these kits look really off. Your paint and detail work is impeccable. From the engine to the grill and rims, I can’t believe how beautiful everything has turned out. I can’t wait to see more, possibly under glass?

Coming along nicely. The paint, and foiling and chrome all look spot on. The extra attention to detail payed off.

Looks good to me. I should get better decals for mine. I don’t like the way they laid down. I had Cady decals for approximately 10 Thunderbolts, so I built 14. That including the kit supplied decal cars. -

Don’t forget to post the final pics. Do you have any other S/S cars planned? I know what you mean with the new project though. I’m diving into a JR Salvinos Kyle Larson 2024 NASCAR Camaro kit for my brother in law. I normally don’t build any NASCAR, but I have to admit it’s nice to get involved in something different. I’m enjoying the build. I put it on hold though, as I had to make a paint run. -

I hear ya, the first and even the second can be a learning experience. You did a really nice job of making that interior look correct. I don’t think I could have done what you did. I had the luxury of using the resin interiors for some of mine. Now it’s time to move on to another fabulous Ford Lightweight. -
Question/New Topic for us Oldtimers
Brutalform replied to TransAmMike's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
My stress test, and all the other tests I had all came back good. But I was still having a minor pain in my chest. So the cardiologist wanted to go in through my wrist, and look around in my heart. There he found two 80% blockages in my LAD, otherwise known as the “ widowmaker”. I was shocked the tests didn’t show anything. I’m sure glad I had the scope and angioplasty done. I feel 200% better, and no more feeling like death wasn’t too far away. It’s amazing how your mindset knows something isn’t right. I guess all the years the blockages were forming, you really don’t notice, but once they were opened up, msn I felt the difference. -
Thanks guys.

I don’t remember ever encountering any of the problems you specified in your build. I’ve built many Galaxies and never ran into the fire wall problem. I mean just some minor trimming around the edges of the fire wall, and very slightly shortening the floor pan, but nothing major. Here are a few pics of some of my Galaxie WIPs. By the way your interior, and the mods you put into it are fantastic. The overall car looks fantastic also. -
Started to get some WIPs completed. Got toying around with the Nova, and completed it yesterday. Eventually I’ll get it under glass.
