Is it better to airbrush or is spraying from the can OK? -

Thanks for the head up on the Testors #2949 "Transparent Black Window Tint. I was going to try the Tamiya acrylic X-19 Smoke but I'll try the Testors instead. -

Will Tamiya acrylic X-19 Smoke work for tinting windows or is Tamiya TS-71 Smoke in the spray can better? -

This was shot with Testors Wet Look Clear out of the can and then polished. I sprayed it over ALPS printed decals. I did spray the first couple of coats very lightly and waited about 30 minutes between coats. -

Bewitched 1968 Camaro
crowe-t replied to crowe-t's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's a good question. This particular car only seems to be in 1 episode of the show. During the 4th season they started with this '68 Camaro(with the Rally wheels) in the attached picture and for the one episode(it might be 2 episodes) they had the SS396 with the SS hood and then went back to this car again. -
Replicas And Miniatures of Maryland has this SS hood for an AMT Camaro. https://public.fotki.com/crstan/replican-and-miniat/replicas-and-miniat/100-3003-jpg.html Years ago I built an AMT '67 Camaro and used the hood from this MPC69 Camaro SS kit in the attached picture. I remember it fit but it was a long time ago. I believe this is basically the same as the AMT 1969 Camaro SS396 Convertible in my above post. The AMT 1969 Camaro SS396 Convertible would help with the hood, engine and convertible boot. I considered using a Revell '67 Camaro but there are too many differences from a '68 Camaro. The AMT '68 Camaro isn't a great kit but it it's a '68 and even has the exact interior I need.

1967 - 69 Camaro Wire Wheel Covers?
crowe-t replied to crowe-t's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Any of the wheels in these kits will do fine. The Camaro wire wheels don't have a criss cross spoke pattern so these should do. -
Will the SS hood from the AMT 1969 Camaro SS396 Convertible fit an AMT 1968 Camaro? I believe this AMT 1969 Camaro is a re-issue of the old MPC 1969 Camaro Convertible. I know Replicas And Miniatures of Maryland makes an SS hood for the AMT Camaro but I also need the 396 and the convertible top boot from this kit so I thought I'd also be able to use the hood too.

I saw that and I also think it's Grotto Blue but maybe someone either knows for sure or can decipher the color. -
On Bewitched in 1968 Darrin and Samantha had 2 '68 Camaros. One was an SS/RS 396 car with an SS hood and the other most likely a small block car with a stock hood. Does anyone know what color these cars are, especially the SS with the black tail panel? I'm thinking Grotto Blue.
-
It would be great if Revell would do a 1968 Camaro SS.
-
I was trying to give the body a more stock appearance. Looking lower in the rear was an added benefit.
-
Thanks for the compliments! I didn't bring the rear down. It's in the stock kit's position. I made the rear wheel openings smaller so that must be making the rear look lower. On page 1 I show pictures of the original and modified rear wheel openings. Here's my post of the finished car in the Under Glass section. It shows more pictures of the rear wheel openings. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/143924-revell-41-willys-street-rod/

Painting Wood Grain - Not typical grain pattern - Burl Wood

Dann Tire's technique involves dry brushing. I already have those colors he used so I think I'll give that a try first. -

You're right about the Testors acrylic paint drying slower. I'll use that instead of the Tamiya. Does the Testors Wood base coat have to stay wet while dabbing on the dark brown? -

The problem is I'm using acrylics and they dry very fast. -

Your burlwood pattern came out perfect! Leave the first lighter color wet while dabbing the dark brown color? -

Thanks Greg! I's still like to get some more opinions and possibly see some pictures of what others have painted. Raymond - It's such a small area, I'm not sure a decal will work. -
Thanks for all the nice comments! It's just a little something to make my wife and I feel good. The paw prints were sprayed on with a stencil I had made. I painted gold under my cat's decal since it was printed on clear paper. From some angles the golds looks more white like her fur was. Peter Lombardo - I did put a slight black wash in the grill. It shows better in person but it is there.
