  1. Looks like a UPS van in a lighter brown from my view.
  2. I've got a 69 Vette in Revell orange styrene. There are no swirls or mold lines showing. So, I shot it in Testors One Coat "Wet Look". I didn't have any issues.
  3. Then again, we never saw West Coast Customs or Galpin Auto Sports build any of their nicer rides on "Pimp My Ride" Either. This kit looks like the entire suspension will be re tooled. It's gonna be a refreshing take on this kit.
  4. I actually cut the piece out that you replaced, omitted the coils (mine's just a shelf model), and clamped it together with clothes pins while the glue dried. The lake pipes barely clear a piece of paper in the front. Now I have true Ford negative camber. In the back, I carefully prenotched a slight bit out of the frame and then used a similar pinch and glue method to simulate dearched leaf springs. Fair warning, these frames aren't much so, if you aren't 100 percent comfortable, don't even try it on the frame you are gonna use. A spare would be handy for practice. If I as going to show mine off, I would have found a way to add some airbags under it. Axle to frame would be one heck of a bad ride in real life.
  5. Rob, I don't know about the enigine. But, I hope his hood is nothing like the one had in my Resto Rods version. On the passenger side, the front just suddenly drops way down. I mean so far down that it would look warped if fixed with warm water.
  6. All these Beetles and buggies on here lately are giving me an urge to get a real one. Nice job there. Looks good to me.
  7. In all my years of going to swap meets, I have only seen model cars there a total of four times. The last time of which, I bought an old orange molded Revell 69 Corvette 427 Coupe for $5.00.
  8. Jonathan, you like NASCAR, right? If you build the 90s NASCAR kits in both AMT and Monogram, they look strange sitting together...especially the same make, model, and year. I have a 1:24 70s Revelogram camaro that just looks stupid next to my 68 AMT Camaro because it is literally about an inch taller and about 3/4" longer. I guess it maybe personal preferences but, it bugs the heck out of me on certain cars.
  9. Man, this thing is cool. It is truely an island cruiser. I never liked the fold down truck bed on these things. The stake bed sides were a great idea to get rid of that eye sore! Its sweet.
  10. Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott are hilarious in their own right. But, Bo and Luke, they definitely are not! And you know, I wander what John Schneider would do if they tried to repaint his General Lee.
  11. Lookin good but, I'd definitely make a scale version of a fiberglass bed tarp for the rest of the bed...perhaps incorporate what you have there into it.
  12. They will probably use one of those new two door converted West Coast Customs chargers this time anyway. I'd just like to hear what the cast of the show has to say about removing the flag. It's not like the show was about being racist. If it was, I would see not condoning the use of the flag. It was just about country people. As far as Bandit driving a Solstice.... Well, I think the first of the new Transformers movies said it best when Megatron picked up Jazz and just ripped him in half. Simply put, it is not a musclecar. If they wanna modernize it, get a 2002 Firebird WS6 or do the Firebird conversion on a new Camaro. Either way, I don't see these movies being any good. On a related note, didn't the Bandit have a rebel flag license plate on the front of his car?
  13. I like this method of lowering the front. I did something similar to mine. This thing is moving right along.
  14. Clearly, you have never been to Kentucky. (JK) There are a lot of us that have trucks who just stick the license plate inside the back window so, we can put it down in our cleaning totes at shows. It keeps us from having to put license plate frames on the roll pan or tailgate. There is no "rearmost" panel law in Kentucky for plates. You are right about the flip down plate though. They are pretty cool. Also, I knew a guy who had a trailer hitch receiver under the roll pan with a detachable bracket for his license plate so he could take it off easily at shows.
  15. That engine bay could almost pass for a real or model subject. I like the seats too. It looks that you could just sit down in the driver's seat and rip and tear gears.
  16. Yeah, I really like this one too...and this isn't usually my cup of tea. Good lookin' out on using the AMT kit due to it being 1:25 scale instead of 1:24 scale.
  17. I say, if it's a driver, recess the plate somewhere else. It it's meant to be a trailer queen, either ditch the plate or stick it in the back window.

    Drop test!

That is a shame. It's been a long time since I have done that. But I wasn't as fortunate. Glad to see all the parts are completely in tact. It shouldn't take long to glue it all back together. On the bright side, it made it easier to deal with the wheels without snapping an antenna or something...that's where it gets super frustrating.
  19. He didn't do that. Tell me he did not just do that. What's to say? That's gonna be sweet when it all goes back together!
  20. Yeah, I like it too. It's a very nice build and the stock look on the headlights gives it a little something different. Great job on the whole car!
  21. Hey great minds think alike lol...well, I dunno if mine is great But yeah, it is so much like a Nissan that I would swear it was an R38 or next 3xx prototype. On a different note, I have to disagree on dissing leds in two cases...Audis and the new Camaros...and the Camaros are just optional halos so, yeah.
  22. If Mike can't successfully remove those taillights in tact, I have a thought. If these have taillight panels similar to the AMT Dirty Donnie Chevy, there is an easy solution. Foil the indentions and use clear red on acetate or any other spare flat clear plastic.
  23. It looks more like a Skyline R38 to me
  24. That Challenger would be cool with Petty red on the grille instead of the traditional black.
