Mine is Rustoleum exclusively ...just some black, white, red, silver, blue. Basics mostly...and ugly shades of them. However, I have noticed that my local Walmart stores have started carrying Rustoleum laquer gloss black...which is a real bonus, IMO, because you get a big can cheaper than Testors.

Referring to what episode? Very cool rendition

I noticed my local Kmart had switched...and the colors are awful! Eh, no biggie for me, Walmart is closer...and cheaper. But it is sad to lose the line from Home Depot and Lowe's.

Wal-mart has models again...

Oh Don't worry. I'm sure if you did, it wouldn't be the strangest thing ever in a Walmart. On topic, I found out neither of my closest Walmarts has started carrying model kits again. Even though the one five minutes from me is arranged the way it was when they had them. -

  Eh, at least he didn't run into the situation Randy Travis ran into the other day. (If you don't know, you can't miss it if you search for it.) -

There was a good thing about donk models at Walmart. They included the parts to build the cars normally. So, if ya got the urge at 3 am to build say...a 70 Chevelle and didn't have one on hand, you could just run out and get it. -

Harry, it's Walmart for goodness sakes. The store that will take back anything. JK Harry. I just had to go there with their reputation and everything. I see what he is saying with being able to hold the box. It is nice to see what it really looks like in person and getting a feel for the content by the weight and fill of the box. And you don't have to worry about the shipper destroying your kit in transit. But I also see the point of being able to order anything online at any time as well. Either way, I like the nostalgia factor of going to get a kit at Walmart. -

I thought this was going to happen. I always enter my local Walmart through the garden center and go by the toys. I went by the other day and noticed everything was rearranged very similar to the way it was in the 90s. It "felt" like the time I purchased models there. I will definitely be checking it out this weekend. BTW, as I said a few months ago, Walmart, KMart, and Meyer have had them on sale on line for quite some time now. -
Well, I cant find it so, if I go back to Pigeon Forge this weekend, I will take pictures myself...Maybe iPhone pictures but, they will show what I am talking about.

That's exactly what I thought. And that is the reason I used the precise wording of "depicted as 69 Chargers". If I can find a picture I will post it. Man, it looks kind of ridiculous with that grille and round taillights in it. Don't get me wrong, I love 68s, probably more than 69s. But this just looked strange as all get out to me. (Insert Soda Spitting Emoticon) then

I was just wandering...Am I stupid or were all the General Lees in the tv show depicted as 69 Chargers? The reason I ask is that there is this place in Pigeon Forge, TN, (Smith Family Theater or something) that has a dinner show called "Hazzard County hoe Down". Out front, perched on a gravel pile, as if it is jumping, is a 68 Charger RT...General Lee. Cooters and Star Cars are right down the road in Gattlinburg. They both have 69 Chargers. The 68 looks really good from what I saw of it. I just can't figure out why someone would butcher it to make an inaccurate replica.

The 5 best GM designs

The headlights in Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliot...yeah that was coolest. And not that either belong on the list but, I think the Saturn Sky was far cooler than the Pontiac Solstice. Yeah, I know, same car. -
One week to build a VW RV... Just for the vacation... :) DONE!

Sunday? Wow! Thats a nice body for a one week project. Best of luck. Keep us posted! -
Don't forget to drop the front frame horns for the bumper mounts as well or your bumper will be "all up in your grille". In fact, one may even have to drop from behind the radiator support forward to keep the radiator under the hood...on most real cars. BTW, excellent progress there...love bubbletops

I'll dig through my parts box tomorrow. If I find anything curved around the back, I'll let ya know and you can have it.

Everything is looking good. For a spoiler, maybe you could find a small one off of an old muscle car and just narrow it to fit the Eclipse. One suggestion though, if you don't mind. I think it would be more consistant if you brought the black up into the top half of the inserts in the rear seats to match the front.

Is this for real?
Skydime replied to JesseJames's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
But wouldn't it be nice for those kits we all have on our wish lists that we know will probably never get made. And imagine the possibilities with a 3d scanner to boot. We could all cast those parts we wish we had 10 or 12 sets of on hand at all times. -
I wish I had better scratch building skills. I would get an 80's Dodge Daytona kit and build a Plymouth Scamp/Turismo. I'm sure it would qualify as a mini truck.
-
Woah! This kit is definitely on my wish list now!
-
Coming along nicely! I think that a Metallic gunmetal on top with that red or just a little darker red would look great.

I think FWD tuners always look better with less graphics and no wing. Though I do like the body kits and wheels they use in most cases. Will keep tuned in on this one. I had this car a few years back and was going to build it in a similar fashion. But it disappeared from my home with a few other kits that were pretty much new in the boxes.

Model #1 Rebuild: Round 1- Revell and superglue

My closest Michael's has the latest issue of the GTS kit for like $9.99 on clearance. It would probably be easiest to follow that path if you can get it that cheap. -

Eh, well, flexibility I guess.
