Rochester NY club
Chris in Berwyn replied to Ryansrust6's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
There is a club in Fulton, NY. Its probably a bit far for you, but you should get in touch with them and see if they know of a club in Rochester. Here is a flyer from their show last year with some contact info on it -

SOME CURRENT ROUND 2 INFO TODAY...
Chris in Berwyn replied to AC Norton's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
How many times can Chad say “cool” in a 10 minute video? It’s out of hand! But, I saw a rumor on another board that he’d be speaking in code in this month’s video, and the number of times he’d say cool would be equal to the number of drag Pirhanas that were built! -
Looks nice!

That came out well!!! Beautiful!

AMT MPC Put Out the Good Stuff!
Chris in Berwyn replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I am about 99.9 percent sure you are trolling us and having a good laugh when we all take the bait. And now, here I am taking the bait. The problem with your statements above is the manufacturer is not giving anyone anything. If they were, they could give people what’s good for them. But they are selling the merchandise, and if people don’t want it they are not going to buy it no matter how good it is for them. For example, Frosted Flakes, which are loaded with sugar, is the number 2 selling cereal in the US. Corn Flakes are a healthier product and aren’t even in the top 10. -
Very nice!!! The box mentions that the tires are "low profile." Quite a difference between what qualified as low profile in 1966 vs. today!!!

AMT Piranha Hemi Dragster Out Soon
Chris in Berwyn replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I believe 82 or 83 hemi drag racing pirhanas were built. All are currently stored at a secret location near Area 51 in Arizona. OK - enough with this thread. I don’t know why I keep reading it!! -

Side by side by side Dragster builds...Kemp-Teresi-Sobak
Chris in Berwyn replied to ClayK's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Clay, a question for you. I seem to recall reading that you paint outdoors. If that is correct, do you paint in the open air, use a box to keep stuff off the paint, or what? Where I have moved painting outside is more convenient but I’ve never done it before, so looking for tips. Thanks! -
I looked for the award winners on the event website and facebook page but no luck. Are they listed anywhere?

I think it’ll be tough. Solvaset is really strong but those scoops are deep. I can’t imagine the decal can be made to stretch that much. I had the same issue with Slixx LA Hooker decals. I was luck to have paint the right color so I painted the hood stripes over the scoops, but it’s a simpler scheme than for “the horse.”

Yes to the curved opera window. No to the aft edge of the b-pillar being curved Look at the real red car above. The example you are referring to has the flat or concave glass where the race car has convex glass, as does the red car .

They are a new company and charging a premium price. I’d go with the old adage “there is only one chance to make a first impression.” Also, once they realized the kit has some problems you’d think they could have delayed the production run. But I wish them luck - the more manufacturers we have the better!

Glad to see the El Camino still includes the six pack!! They did change the spelling from Six Pak on the box for the original kit.
