  1. Fabulous attention to detail and realism - two different things. Your build has that something extra that makes it seem real.
  2. That looks RIGHT!! Great realism. It just looks perfect!
  3. That's why I have a guage on my tank. If it's anywhere near being low I just refill it. The same way you keep from running out of gas in your car. Guages aren't expensive and the low cost air tanks from Sears come with a guage already installed at less than $30 for a 5 gallon tank. I fill mine up with a Black & Decker portable tire inflater (about $25) that has no problem getting it up to 100+ psi.
  4. Monogram 1934 Duesenberg built mostly box stock. The only additions are spark plug wires, exhaust tips, interior door handles and license plates plus some BMF. Duplicolor paint. These kits turn out good especially for 1960's tooling.
  5. I think GM was using Alclad in 1959.
  6. A number of the older Ford tractors were Harry Ferguson designs.
  7. The problem is more likely due to the lighting where you're shooting than the camera. If you photograph under a light rated at a color temperature of 6500K or as close to that as you can find the colors should look much more natural. (Hint: I bought an 18" 6500K rated flourescent bulb to use in a small under-shelf light at an aquarium store, Home Depot sells them in 48" length.) Also, if you're viewing your photos on a computer monitor most of them can really skew the color.
  8. I second that! Even a list would be very interesting.
  9. Goood point! There really aren't any full detail kits of Unibody Mopars of that era. Hint, hint.....Moebius, are you listening? 300G?
  10. The "USA Oldies" series had a lot of problems and shouldn't be confused with the real Johans from a decade or more earlier. By the time of the "USA Oldies" (Seville ownership) some of the tooling was already lost, destroyed, worn out or ????? and the kits were sort of made up of what was available. The '62 Plymouth convertible includes a '63 Plymouth dashboard and the '62 Plymouth hardtop has a Dodge Polara dash, i.e., the correct '62 dash was gone by that time. The "Oldies" version of the '62 Chrysler 300H has the wrong interior, etc. The original issues had the correct parts. The '63 Plymouth re-issue has the most amazing flash that I've ever seen - to the extent that there are "ghosts" of parts that aren't actually included in the kit in the flash. The originals back in the day were clean and crisp. As was said by others, Johan died a slow, painful death and as a long time fan of Johan it was sad to watch! In their day they were among the best.
  11. That's true. The Avanti has the car show accessories instead of the pen holder. I don't know which others since the Avanti is the only one I've built.
  12. Did I miss something? By my calculator, $89 for 8 oz is over $11 per ounce.
  13. I totally agree! That looks like too much fun!
  14. Snipers are not sitting there waiting until the last ten seconds. They're using something like this: https://www.bidrobot.com/ My strategy is use Bidrobot, bid exactly what I'd like to pay, and then don't look at it again unless Ebay tells me I won. You have to pay to join Bidrobot but it's very reasonable. The way it works is that you pay for a membership that lasts so many days OR until you win items totalling a certain amount whichever comes last. If you don't bid too much (like me) it can be a lifetime membership. I've used it for years and never had to renew.
  15. WOW! That's a really classic look. Great job.
  16. That's my favorite Hudson that I've seen yet. Looks great!
  17. Thanks but no thanks! I'm keeping my subscription to Glue Bomb!
  18. That is a really great build and just unbelievable for a second build! Keep it up. You have talent.
  19. I'm surprised that someone like Scale Dreams doesn't carry a lot of the RMCM stuff. There's definitely a demand for it. Like so many others have said, my experience is that their stuff is absolutely top notch and I'd love to be able to order it by just going to the web.
  20. Totally agree. I like 1/32 scale as a concept but there just isn't any significant number of good kits out there so I really don't build 1/32. The model companies have always treated as the scale for kids' toy snap kits.
  21. I still watch it (most of it) out of habit as much as anything but it ain't what it used to be.
  22. That's hilarious!! I've seen the MPC Monkeemobile before but the idea of selling it as just a '66 GTO is too much!
  23. NICE engine compartment!!! The shrink-ray DOES exist after all!
  24. Totally agree! You can even specify the thickness down to the thousandth. I use a .01" string which scales to 1/4".
