The Ala Kart has a Dodge Red Ram hemi. They were smaller than the Chryslers. Don't know the displacement of the one in the Kart but some versions were under 300 cubic inches. The plug wires enter at the rear of the valve covers and run under the removable cover (with the 3 screws) in the center of each valve cover.

Great job! I built one of those a few years back and it was a BEAR! I was proud that I got all four wheels touching the ground.

Just my opinion, but it seems like you should at least put a driver figure in the car if you use wrinkled slicks. Otherwise it's taking off all by itself!!

Interesting! I also saw Bill Lawton run at Connecticut Dragway one time. On that day he was beaten (probably one of the few times) by a Dodge with a green plaid stripe down the center! I forget the driver's name but it was McSomething - I guess that's why the plaid. Don Garlits was running that day, also.

First impression: model. But after looking at it closely the details said real so that's how I voted. Interesting color scheme. It reminds of 1960's kitchen appliances!!

As somebody that's built a few wooden boats (15'6" kayak in construction right now) I say model. The wood doesn't look right to me. It looks like real wood but it just just doesn't look 1:1. That IS a fabulous model, however!

Thanks for the good idea, guys! I've been wondering about a way to get a good textured surface for a raised convertible top. It has a texture molded in but I'm going have to sand it off as I modify the top to fit a different kit. Medical tape might be just what I need.

That's how I've always heard it but an even better rule is don't mix the two at all!

I'm no expert on old KW's but I do know that headlight laws were not changed to allow quads until mid '57 so they first showed up on road vehicles for the '58 model year. I don't know either if that's when KW started using them but it tells that this isn't a '52. Maybe it's the '59 model that was mentioned in another post. I just located this link that shows a '59 KW model A. Don't know if that's your truck but it's similar. A place to start anyway. HOLY MOLY!! That's incredible. Even down to the tires! He's obviously an unbelievable talent.

Personally, I think the engine looks great. It has that real look instead of model look. Just the right amount of grime and you can see gravity pulling on the plug wires. Great work!
