Russell, The merc is temporarily on hold until I finish my Pro Mod Camaro build but i'll have some progress soon!
Tom, here is a link to the under glass thread for my Impala

Mitch, I'm glad the advice was helpful! I've started using Tamiya tape on everything now and so far I've had zero issues with it. for the stripes I cut it into thin strips so it will make the curves needed without bunching up.
Jim, Thanks for the compliment! The huge engines are my favorite part of Pro Mod cars!
Thanks guys! Leonard, The color is Intense Blue Pearl from Kustom Shop with Cobalt Blue Candy faded around the lower edges of the body and down the center of the car.
Hi Mitch, you are correct about me using hollowed out styrene hex rod as fittings, it looks ok but the pro tech stuff is definitely better. The only things to watch out for on the Gibson Engines are the uneven mating surfaces and occasional pinholes that need to be filled. I usually tape a piece of sandpaper to some flat glass and sand the parts against it to make the mating surfaces level. Also, on this engine I used small sanding sticks to remove the "cast" texture from the block and heads to get more of a machined look on them. I hope this helps.

Firts off I want to say that hood looks great! Now in my experience some colors just don't look very "deep". The good thing is this can usually be solved with pearl clear or candy colors since they both literally add another layer of color for light to move around in. I hope this helps.

I have all of the body parts and chassis. It's all in primer now, I'll post pics tomorrow. I can send the chassis back to Carlos and the body to Ron after paint if that'll work.
Thanks Bob!
Russel, thanks, so far I've mainly used sheet plastic, fiberglass cloth, 2 part bondo spot putty, and LOTS of super glue. and the Primer is Nason Select Prime 2K airbrushed on. I believe the grill came from a Revell 49' Mercury kit.
Since I've finished the impala It's time to get something done on this. I started with an AMT 49' Mercury and chopped, pie sectioned, and shaved it into what you see here. It will have functioning doors, hood, and decklid and will probably sit on a custom chassis with C6 corvette suspension. Right now I'm thinking about painting it in an emerald green/light gold two tone but that might change.
Thanks guys! I really appreciate it!
Gene, I think what you're seeing on the seat is the chrome speaker? on the back seat.
Dave, be sure to post some pics if you try it!
