My best friend has a stainless polishing business and he was tasked to repair and polish all the stainless trim on a '59 Impala. He said there was more than 200-feet of trim on that car. I have to believe the Elky has at least that much. Nice work laying down 200 scale feet of BMF.

And a real, genuine, salt of the earth guy. I had the pleasure to hang with him a little while when he visited Fargo for the showing of Billy Crystal's Roger Maris movie "61*." Crystal, Bob Costas and several cast members presented the film a few years ago. After the movie, a few celebs hung out to meet and greet. By late in the evening, only a handful of people remained in the theatre and Barry Pepper was one of them. With nothing left to do and no place to go, he just sat around visiting til whenever because he enjoyed the company. And it was not all about him. He was curious and inquisitive about the rest of the gathered folks. He was quick to laugh and comfortable with strangers.

I disagree. Squashed into what, nothing? At 66-percent water, the human body will be be compressed, distorted, etc. but there's no reason they should be in a million pieces, with the exception of implosion damage and any parts containing air, fat or non water based tissue. Not sure what kind of remnant they might be but there should some identifiable forms.

I really like this photo. I mean... a lot. As an art photo, there's room to enjoy interpretations of what we're seeing. -

I want to discuss puttys and fillers.

Yes, but if you buy it in the tubes and are only working with dabs (as opposed to opening a can) I find the smell is manageable. For quick and easy, it's my go-to. -

First or second grade, my very first model car... I enjoyed it, but the Palmer kit was a little bit of a let down, so shortly after that I bought my very second model car... I was off model cars for a while. Went back to Paul Lindberg airplanes. -
You're off to a great start. Proportionally, everything is there, but it's crying for the darks to be darker. I know you're sort of at the limit of what you can do with graphite, so I wondered if you'd considered moving to a pastel pencil or a conte crayon for the deepest darks. Conte is not as messy as pastel or charcoal and is almost similar to pencil for ease of use. Since you're mostly going for realism, a blending stump will then help smooth the shades of each media together. Blending stump. They're each less than five bucks and with a little courage and contrast I think you could really bring this to life in the end. Apologies, I almost never suggest to people how to do their art projects unless I think it's too cool to stay silent. ?

That body has tempted me a few times but now that I see your pics, I'll just follow your build, thank-you-very-much.

I have pieces of one too laying in wait for a project. I've been reluctant to go scavenging for more of them because if you don't know what you're doing you can get quite a shock from CRT tubes even from old TVs that have not been used for a while. I've watched videos on how to discharge them but still not in my comfort zone without know more about them.

Scratchbuilding-Where to begin?

I recommend this post for inspiration. It's old so many of the photos have broken links but there are many pages so it's a great place to study. Some things are quite advanced and others quite simple. Some explain their processes. -

Well done. I love the colors and nice crisp details. -
Looks to me like the Beav's got a (1/144?) B-52.

Had to google it, but I think you're right. Rounded tips of swept back wings with side by side exhaust had me stumped.
