  1. Yes, but if you buy it in the tubes and are only working with dabs (as opposed to opening a can) I find the smell is manageable. For quick and easy, it's my go-to.
  2. First or second grade, my very first model car... I enjoyed it, but the Palmer kit was a little bit of a let down, so shortly after that I bought my very second model car... I was off model cars for a while. Went back to Paul Lindberg airplanes.
  3. You're off to a great start. Proportionally, everything is there, but it's crying for the darks to be darker. I know you're sort of at the limit of what you can do with graphite, so I wondered if you'd considered moving to a pastel pencil or a conte crayon for the deepest darks. Conte is not as messy as pastel or charcoal and is almost similar to pencil for ease of use. Since you're mostly going for realism, a blending stump will then help smooth the shades of each media together. Blending stump. They're each less than five bucks and with a little courage and contrast I think you could really bring this to life in the end. Apologies, I almost never suggest to people how to do their art projects unless I think it's too cool to stay silent. ?
  4. ...Add chrome roof rack and AM-only radio and you're describing our old '73 Pinto family truckster.
  5. That body has tempted me a few times but now that I see your pics, I'll just follow your build, thank-you-very-much.
  6. I have pieces of one too laying in wait for a project. I've been reluctant to go scavenging for more of them because if you don't know what you're doing you can get quite a shock from CRT tubes even from old TVs that have not been used for a while. I've watched videos on how to discharge them but still not in my comfort zone without know more about them.
  7. I'd say that's pretty freakin' good. Unfortunately, not perfect. 4 is incorrect. 8 and 10 are half right.
  8. I recommend this post for inspiration. It's old so many of the photos have broken links but there are many pages so it's a great place to study. Some things are quite advanced and others quite simple. Some explain their processes.
  9. A sentimental favorite of mine. I have one half built in the closet. Nice work.
  10. Well done. I love the colors and nice crisp details.
  11. Got kind of an Ian Roussel thing going. Since different is always good, the lady says...
  12. Comet?
  13. Looks to me like the Beav's got a (1/144?) B-52.
  14. 12 different auto makers, same year. With the exception of the Charger, good luck being a cop looking for a suspect vehicle. But I digress.
  15. Had to google it, but I think you're right. Rounded tips of swept back wings with side by side exhaust had me stumped.
  16. I dunno man, I wouldn't have the heart to shoot those around or down a track for fear of something getting wrecked. Love the Jag! And I'm really impressed with your drivers, not just the excellent paint jobs, but the sitting postures perfectly suited to the vehicles they're in. All in all, touche'.
  17. I can barely comprehend the amount of work you put into this transformation. Absolutely superb. Definitely need to post a couple dozen general progress pics at least.
  18. The body work on this is so natural, fluid and seamless it's the kind of thing I would do a double-take on because the first glance wouldn't register exactly what I'm looking at. Lovely work all around.
  19. Right here. 1999 Honda Aero 1100. Been riding it since 2002 when I bought it with 1500 miles on it. They only made the 1100 Aeros for 5 years. This is the bike that Harley sued Honda over for infringing on the "copyright sound" of a Harley. Case dismissed. I designed and painted the hard bag graphics and converted the turn signals to '59 Caddy taillights. Got crazy lucky that the Caddy lens diameter is the exact width of the Honda signal lenses.
