Small World...
Lunajammer replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Fun story. But that really looks rough. I don't know how much sentimental value it has to you, but yes, pretty rough. -
Bee-ooo-teee-ful!

Pretty good. All around well done. I especially like the color you used on the interior. Steering wheel, gross!

Engine wiring question
Lunajammer replied to DanR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
HUH? -
Casey sent me a missing bumper/taillight piece. I really needed it and he just up and gave it to me. Now I'm lookin' how to pay it forward.

KInd words Randy. It's a shame Photobucket had to undermine our racers' hard work by dropping the links to half the photos, so late readers miss much of what this thread was about. It's also very kind of you to offer sponsored awards.

Engine wiring question
Lunajammer replied to DanR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sorry, I found this in my "Misc." file and thought it needed to go here. -
Nice work. Your wheel choice really gives it personality. I like the dio background too, pretty believable commercial garage.

CONGRATULATIONS BELUGAWRX (Bruce Coy) for winning this year's Cannonball Run CBP. Right out of the gate, his '70 Barracuda was hard to keep up with. He took the lead and kept it all across America. Special recognition for DOMINIK (Dominik Weitzer), in his Mercedes 300 SLR who was the only one who had a chance to catch the leader and stayed within site the entire distance, but couldn't make his pass before the Redondo Beach finish line. Well done to all who participated and, of course, to Jantrix for spearheading the CBP and for inspiring us to put forth our best efforts. You all get pink participation ribbons .

So smooth. Nice billet touches. I like this.

Your builds are always perfectly clean and precise. Super job! You may not think the supercharger is a big mod, but it sure makes a difference. Well done my friend.

Outstanding! I think you should add some shots to the Finished Builds thread so it will be on record as having finished with a group of champions. It's not unusual, especially in busy years, to have finished builds added later. I'll close voting and declare a winner tomorrow. It will have been ten days since the deadline and seven since the race "start."

So on Sunday the poll will have been up a week. Think that's enough? Add a "last chance" bump to the invite thread in the General section on Sat?

I'd LOVE to know the rest of THIS story. What kind of mock-up was it, cardboard? Who won it? Did they really deliver it in a rocket carryin' Super Guppy? What happened to it? 29 second prizes, 600 third prizes of a 6-pack of models. Life was good. -
I vote for myself twice. For the record Erik, that Challenger looks so good, if you removed the background it could pass for real. I'm usually in awe of the precision and realism of your details. Looking forward to the full walk-around.

Prior to reorganizing, it took my vote too, but when I returned later it did not show my vote. At the far right right where it shows the number of people who voted for a model, click on the number or the little man and it will show you who voted for that model. If you don't see your name on the model you voted for, then vote again.

Okay, I think I remedied the problem. It's all coming back now from last year. The poll is set up like a question and you click on the answers. The question is, "which is your favorite choice." But only five answers are allowed for each question so we have to spread the nine entries over three questions, or groups. The problem is each group or "question" requires an answer or the poll won't work for you. I've restacked the lineup to include a "none of the above" option so you need to select your model then in all the other groups "none of the above." To complicate things each time I make a polling edit, one of the models goes away and I have to re-enter it again.

There are a lot of builders who participated in the 2017 Cannonball Run CBP down in the Community section. Not everybody was able to finish but ALL gave it their best. All forum members are invited to take a look at the beauty shots and descriptions of the entries HERE, then VOTE for your one favorite finisher at the poll HERE. You do not need to have participated in the CBP in order to vote, so come on down. To vote, choose ONLY ONE OF THE NINE MODELS. In all other groups select "none of the above." The polling function requires responses in each group but we're asking you to only vote for 1 of the nine models. Thanks for your participation.
-
Okay everybody the poll is up HERE. Good luck to all finishers and may the most popular vote getter win! (Heh). I'll leave it up for as long as there appears to be activity.
-
Choose only ONE of the nine finishers. In all other groups click the last dot. The polling function requires a selection in each group so the last dot has been set up to allow you to vote in a group without voting for more than one model overall. One click for each section, but you should be voting for only ONE model overall. Please click HERE to take a look at all the beauty shots of the finishers and read what they have to say about their projects. All forum members are invited to vote. This was the 10th Anniversary Cannonball Run CBP. You're invited to see how it came together in the 2017 Cannonball Run thread in the Community section. Though it was an open build, meaning there was no restrictive themes, builders were invited to give some nod if they wanted to Brock Yates, who passed away this year, and who established the Cannonball Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash.

Well, that's another great year of Cannonballing. Well done everybody, it's a nice line up of finishers. Erik, if you get that Challenger buttoned up we'd sure like to see it. I will get the poll set up in the next couple days. I will look for some feedback from you guys about that shortly, since the polling feature only allows five choices per group or question. But I'll get into that more after I have some time to play around with it.

Corvette ZR-1 proof of concept research vehicle. Modified to be a mobile platform for a Nitrous Turbolene Generator, the highly volatile and hypothetical fuel additive that can expand fuel milage and efficiency many time over in a conventional internal combustion engine. Chief research lab is Yates Technologies, with generous sponsorship from other technology funds and the Science Channel. AMT Corvette • Nose modified with 64 Riviera grill • Nascar rims on kit tires • Home made decals • Cabin includes two very important technological doo-hickeys (it's an industry term).

Beautiful, traditional look. I love it. Nice BMF work too.
