  1. Niko, if you need anything from the states to help you out, PM me. I'd be happy to do what I can.
  2. What, and you didn't have the time or where-with-all to build any models?? Kidding, of course. Yeah that's a rough year. I'm sure it took the wind out of a lot things you enjoy. All the best for 2018 my friend.
  3. This is about the finest example of dieselpunk I've seen in 1/25. I've aspired to do something like this and got a couple false starts, I'm just not talented enough of a visionary to make the details look like they have purpose. Great work!
  4. I LOVE IT. I admire modelers who explore boldly. Why? Because I'm not talented that way but wish I was. It's about the idea, and the ideas inspire me. There's lots of room in modeling for creative exploration, let the engineers sweat the details. I see things you're doing and it gets my mind whirling about how I could interpret something you've done into a project of my own. I'd like to see what else you've done. Here's a link to a site I've bookmarked because this guy does wacky and unapologetic creating. It inspires me and I refer to it from time to time. http://www.markrodill.com/models.html
  5. Among the best 2017 collections here.
  6. Well, the rules say, "Your build must feature an engine or engines with all cylinders in a row, of any variety." Rob makes the call, but it sounds favorable.
  7. I always forget about these until you bring them up each year, at which point I'm reminded how cool the idea is. I think that airport limo is a lot to tackle in one week, but I'd still like to that one buttoned up and pretty some day.
  8. Anything different is good. Love the fresh take.
  9. I've never used ink jet for decals so I have no experience, but it's been my impression that laser printers offer denser, richer ink. Though I now use an office laser copier, I used to go to a print shop for laser copies and have never been disappointed. No issues with setting solutions or clear coats. Biggest issue has been ink flaking off when doing tight, curved trimming.
  10. I was born in the 60s and raised through the 70's so that's where my sentimental attachment lies. But my high living, 20-something to 30-something was in the 80s and 90s. Man, I was doing the rock radio morning show, then TV news with a bunch of young bucks gunning for adventure. That was my wild time and this radwood stuff takes me back. I even just got engaged to the girl I was dating back then. This is a compelling CBP but my limited model time is claimed for the winter. Hmmmm. P.S. you couldn't spit on the sidewalk without hitting someone's aluminum Center Lines.
  11. But he wears it well.......
  12. Your metal colors are always so precise to the finest hues. Bravo.
  13. So I don't. Then I miss things. Then it pops up in a "year in review" thread and I get a chance to see a lot of gems I didn't catch the first time around and see a bunch more builds I hadn't really associated with Member-X before.
  14. Oh, I forgot to finish my story... The Turbolene Generator? Yeah, it was a scam. To nobody's surprise it was a bogus technology. Made especially true to this group because you saw the photo of the interior with nothing in the back and couple gizmo boxes up front. Yates Technologies was just a front. It was all a ruse to get a bunch of stuffy fat cats to buy us a wicked cool corvette and keep a lot of grant money left over to fund any future Cannonball entries. Our report to the board of governors will be peppered with optimistic hopes for future results and how close we came to realizing the turbolene generator's possibilities and yada, yada, yada.
  15. Thanks Rob, I've made the correction. Sorry Zen, you still didn't win.
  16. Thanks Rob, it was fun. I corrected some factual errors, feel welcome to call out any errors or add anything you see that preserves the historical integrity.
  17. I don't know Wayne, looks pretty good to me. Beautiful paint. BMF looks super crisp.
  18. Yours looks pretty good. They made so many of these ZR1s you can get them for a song. I just finished one and overall I was satisfied, but they do sit high and it's not easy to get them to sit down. Despite the shortcomings you point out, there's a lot to like. Nice work.
  19. Something I'd talked to Rob about earlier this year was to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of this CPB with a retrospective of finishers from the last 10 Cannonballs. I've done so in the Under Glass section HERE. The list is incomplete because not all photos are available online anymore, even from the Google archives. Some pics are small or low res so if you have a better photo, PM me the pic and I'll swap it out.
