  1. Just beautiful work going on here Chris !!!! I have some MFH kits and I am so impressed with your ability to take those bags of white metal bits and make such a great looking model. Truly inspiring. Randy
  2. John, You had me hooked at Porsche :) Randy
  3. Looks terrific, always fun to follow along on your builds Mark! Randy
  4. Hi Jim, What a great creation !!! Love the use of 3D printing for this project. Randy
  5. Hey Tim, So glad the eyes are good !!! Been catching up on this one... first off, that rear end is just gorgeous. Loved how you broke it all down to create it. Truly inspiring. Then you went an machined those killer wheels !! Looking forward to more progress on those cool hubs. Have to go back and drool some more. Thanks for the updates my friend , Randy
  6. Hi Folks, Thank you for those kind words Francis. I feel the same when viewing your stunning creations over in the drag section !!! Appreciate it Mike :) Mods...when you get a chance would you move this thread over to the racing section, want to go hang with the cool kids Thanks, Randy
  7. Hi Folks, Andrew, The short answer is yes:) but it needs to be parts of similar size and chemical makeup so you know the melting point. You then work just under that temp with a solder like TIXX. For these parts I'm using epoxy and CA. Appreciate the comment Ben ! Thank you Steve:) Randy
  8. Hi Folks, Hey Pete, That lettering is just a pe part from the scrap box (i think it came from a Profil24 Maser kit?) Thank you Anton ! Daniel, I appreciate your comments. Thank you David. Randy
  9. Exhaust side valve cover next.... Valley pan ...... Upper part of block and heads.....
  10. Sample of some white metal cast train parts used as stock... Lots of printing out and scaling photos lets me figure out dimensions..... With the crazy 45 degree tilt of the motor the intake side valve cover becomes the focal point so I started there. Lots of filing
  11. Hi Folks, Eric, Really hoping to see you this time:) Finally starting on the motor for the Tipo 61. An inline 4 cylinder , DOHC, aluminum block and heads with twin side draft Webers. Twin sparkplugs, dual coils, dry sump developing 250 h.p. Typical of the period, this little motor had a whole bunch of stuff hanging off it. Fuel pump, oil pump, generator and water pump all gear driven. Lots of photos from the web, one really helpful drawing and some great photos from Joel Finn's book have provided reference. Going to build it up from 'white metal', ally, nickel silver tubing and aftermarket nuts and bolts. As an old model train guy I have alot of white metal castings that provide stock I can shape using hand files. Will assemble with epoxy and super glue.
  12. Hi Steve, Glad it got there! I will call Brad tomorrow and check on that exhaust piece and clarify those instructions. Randy
  13. Curtis, A bit of both for this batch, the ones that are available have been loaded into the store. Thank you to both Steve and Robert:) Randy
  14. Hi Folks, I get alot of questions about HRM product availability due to all the "out of stock" tags on the store site. Brad is still producing his wonderful goodies, just not as fast as we all would like:) Just received these, including the Cobra Daytona Coupe !!!! http://modelbuilderswh.com
  15. Hi Chris, This is VERY inspiring !!! Wonderful work on all the cool details. Is this out of box or are you adding detail? Really looking forward to more updates. Randy
  16. This one....Mad Mike 3D print...
  17. I checked already Rex, should fit like a glove
  18. But all my complaining aside I will build it! I'm thinking that a replacement motor can be sourced. Transaxle just needs a little love:) Randy
  19. Next were the seats which do not have any groments cast in, just a hole with a peg in it. The paint masks are not die cut, you need to cut them out. The decals are separated at every panel line???? Don't know if that is good or bad! Randy
  20. Hi Folks, I could not wait to get one of these Big fan of Meng kits and the GT40!!! As Rex posted above, this looks like a Mk 2 GT40. The parts are crisply molded. Meng's engineering is always great. You can basically press fit this model together. For me, there were some areas that disappointed. The engine has some parts that are just flat out unacceptable in this day an age.
  21. I feel your pain Josh, I got the driveway shoveled out just in time for the blizzard:( That is my daily driver there at the curb. Nothing wrong with my camera, it's the snow going by sideways at 25 MPH.
  22. Lots of really cool seats in stock... Clearly Scale wire is back at a great price..99 cents for 5 feet
