  1. Thanks JC, Have always really liked the Lancia Rally cars from the 70s,80's and early 90''s. The Stratos, this 037 and the Delta S4. Hey Pierre, Thank you... but no promises. Should go faster as I am not scratch building everything:) Hey Steve, thanks for commenting and I hear you on the tires. JC pointed out a good supplier, www.renaissance-model.com is another one. Pasquale, GPModeling.com , has started a line. pics of a gravel set and snow set from the French guys... A pic from the GPModeling site......
  2. Hello Francis, Very happy for you that you have finished this masterpiece, but very sad that the journey has ended. Always went to your build thread to become inspired!!! You really show with your builds what is possible in scale model building if you have patience and enormous amounts of skill!!!! Look forward to your next project Sir. Randy
  3. This is what the transkits look like installed on the Hasegawa car. Pic is from GPModeling.... The 3D printed parts require some patience to remove all the supports. Good set of low profile nippers come in handy:) I spent some extra time on all the tube sections to knock down the layer lines then primed with Duplicolor scratch fill primer. Followed up with Tamiya Fine primer. Have to say this is some really fine detail ...... That is all for now, thanks for looking in. Randy
  4. Hi Folks, Hasegawa has released a number of different boxings of the 037 car over the years. They were all the same but with decals of specific races. All curbside. I then found ( thanks to Niteowl here) that they released a boxing that contained a motor. I found one and it disappeared into the stash never to be seen till a month ago. Late nite surfing the net led to rumors of a Italian model shop, GPModeling, 3D printing a transkit designed by Claudio de Bellis for the entire rear compartment. Found it, found that they also did a kit for the front end. Looked wonderful. So impressed that I arranged to become the retail outlet North America for these transkits. Also picked up a small pe set from Hobby Design. Here is what we have to work with... The extra goodies... Engine set..... Frontend set............. more to come..
  5. You know my friend, if you would quit working on your handicap all summer we could see some progress here:) Love this build. Will be posting up a family member(037) here soon. Randy

  18. Hi Folks, I have decided to dip a toe in the world of Rally cars. GPModeling is a online hobby shop located in Italy. Some of the nicest folks to deal with!! They produce a line of transkits to upgrade Hasegawa, Italeri, Tamiya Rally car kits. Once the world of wire transfers and Italian banks was successfully navigated I received my first order... There are 2 kits to enhance the Hasegawa Lancia 037 kits. These provide the entire front and back tube chassis and all the parts to create a very accurate EVO 2 car. There is alot of prep with these parts in removing the printing supports and addressing print layer lines on some pieces. On the other hand, incredible detail.... This is the engine block and fuel pump, all one piece. I removed the supports and primed.... Vollumex Supercharger and Bosch fuel injection.. Other offerings include a engine for Fiat 131 Abarth kits... Also engine/engine bay sets for the Hasegawa Delta kits.... I will start a thread in the race car section with my build up of the 037 sets. Here is a link to the products... https://www.modelbuilderswh.com/collections/detail-parts/gpmodeling Thank you! Randy

  20. Nice surgery there Bill!!!! Like your attention to detail Andy:) Gary, looking forward to the Porsche build. That old kit really does have a bunch of parts!! Rex, Good choice there Sir. Misha, really cool choice! Do not see to many of these built. Some progress.... Squirted some primer on the body to see what I've got , looks pretty good.. Borrani's assembled, the one at an angle has been painted with a dull aluminum and added the chrome knockoff, looks like I will not be using the Dunlops, need to source some Goodyears... Question for our intrepid leader....okay to post photos from the William Jordan site? Randy
  21. Well I see we have an impressive list of builders already signed up!!!! Pierre, that Corvette is just awesome my friend. Way to set the bar up there! Andy, You are making great progress on your body mods, love it. Finally made some decisions on what to use for my Ferrari GTO car. Some pics of the chassis 3223GT car from Ultimate Car Page. Going with the Fujimi kit for the body, frame and suspension bits. For the motor I am using the R&M kit.. For wheels I will use the really nice ones from the Protar kit... For tires I will go with HRM's Dunlops. Before I go much further I need to consult with the Ferrari expert, Mr. Bradford. Randy
  22. Jeff, You might try these Fujimi sets. They are kit plastic. If you can't find them ley me know and we could work a trade. Randy
  23. Alright...Andy has sucked me in also!!!! Looks like a good excuse to build a Ferrari 250 GTO. Chassis# 3223GT entry #82 in the field. Larry Perkins owner/driver. I pulled some candidates from the stash.... Been keeping this for just the right time. A beautiful rendition of the V12 by Norm of R & M .... I like your start Andy !!! Randy
