  1. I booked a vendor table last night and was told that there were only two more remaining unbooked. It should be a good show/sale. Hope to see a bunch of you out.
  2. Bingo. Mark pretty much said it all right there. If someone wants to drive faster than you, be courteous, move to the right and let them pass. Then point and laugh at them a couple of miles later while a trooper is writing them a ticket. Up here, once a year the police have a "left lane bandit" blitz to ticket drivers who hog the left lane by driving slowly and impeding the flow of traffic. They should do it about once a month. It would be one heck of a great way for them to generate revenue. And it would teach some of the ignorant drivers that they cannot just drive wherever they feel like.
  3. That style of gm has upper and lower control arms for the rear suspension. A arms are for the front suspension or for some independent rear suspensions. And engines and motors are not the same. An engine runs on some type of fuel. A motor is an electrical device. i.e. an internal combustion engine has a starter motor.
  4. Nope, You can keep him.
  5. A fire extinguisher is just like lots of horsepower or a condom. It is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Lol
  6. Go to radio shack and find a product called kynar wire. A 50 foot roll is about 6 dollars and is just about perfect for 1/24-25 scale spark plug wire. It is available in black, red, white, blue, and other colors too. Lots cheaper than 5 bucks for a 3 foot piece.
  7. if you have a copy of the 50th anniversary edition of the Lil Coffin handy, have a look at the box art for it. The ejector pin marks are very clearly visible on the front wheel on the box art. They have been like that probably since the very early issues of the kit. I agree that it is strange that they would choose to do the front rims like that instead of turning them around to face the other way. As far as the warp, that body is fairly flimsy so if they pulled it out of the molds before it was cool enough then it could possibly warp. A bit of hot water and some patience should straighten it out for you.
  8. I quit using the photobucket app and started using the photobucket mobile site instead. Seems to work a lot better. The photobucket app seems to be nothing but problems. if you log onto photobucket on your mobile browser and go right to the bottom of the screen there should be a link that says photobucket mobile. click on that and it gets rid of all of the ads and stuff that slow down the site loading.
  9. Welcome Dale, from another fellow Ontarion. check out http://www.group25.org/ for links to some local shows. Group 25 is a Toronto based club.
  10. Thanks. That is how can a kit review should be done. Nice clear pictures showing the parts.
  11. Does anyone know if this project ever got finished? What he had done so far on the website is spectacular. I would love to see pictures of the finished model and to know if it ever was (or ever will be) offered in resin. Just wondering how many years I might have to save my pennies for to be able to afford one of the resin kits if they were made available.
  12. Can someone post pics of the corrected rear bumper and tail lights please? Pics of the new kit contents would be great too.
  13. Can anyone post pictures (close up) of the corrected tail lights? This kit has not made it north of the border yet. Probably won't until late january or early february.
  14. For a kit based one, the best one that I have found is in the Monogram 65 Impala SS 396 2dr hardtop kit. Excellently executed engine. The ones that I have robbed the engines out of have a picture of the real impala on the box painted a horrible pale purple color. Monogram kit #2470. And like has been pointed out in several different threads on here, in scale a 396/402/427/454 are all visually the same. This kit: http://www.modelcars.com/monogram-1965-chevy-impala-ss-396.html Since it is 1/25 scale, it might not work for you though.
  15. I do not believe that there is an AA truck currently readily availible. If a good quality one were to be available for a reasonable price I think it would be a good seller. I would be interested in a flatbed AA but I would think that a tow truck would also sell well and with a bit of engineering a wrecker deck could probably be worked to fit on either the AA chassis or the 32/33/34 chassis. I would also suggest that you offer the cab seperately as to my knowlwdge the cab is the same between a model A and a model AA. I know of no currently availible 30/31 model A truck cab. I think that factory stock and hot rod builders would both be interested in them. I know that I would be interested in a couple of cabs in addition to a complete AA truck. If the frame for the AA were also available seperately then a builder could easily put together a 28/29 AA using the Revell rat rod 3n1 pickup kit. Just a couple of things to keep in mind.
  16. These were made after the era of the actual woodie. These were all steel cars. The "wood" trim on the side from the factory was just painted on. Does not hurt the cool factor though.
  17. If you are looking for a four door it isn't an Anglia, it is then called a Prefect.
  18. Dang it. I almost spewed pepsi out of my nose with the hammer comment. Here I was innocently out for a stroll on the interweb looking for information on model cars and I stumbled into a nut house cleverly disguised as a model car forum. Lol. Buncha crazy people. You are all one chrome sprue short of a model kit. Good thing I seem to fit right in.
  19. Chuck, I have a 401 nailhead and an auto transmission on a stand in my garage. any measurements you need I can provide. From what I have been able to determine, physically the 401 and the 425 are the same engine. The differences are internal. Let me know if I can help. The engine will eventually find its way into my 59 El Camino.
  20. I would love to see them reissue the visible chassis kit that goes along with the visible V 8 engine. Sadly the tooling is probably long gone for that kit. I would love to build one to go along with a visible V8 to put in it but I am not willing to pay the crazy eBay prices that it usually goes for. Usually commands close to $1000 for a complete unbuilt kit. Still hope to come across one at a garage sale or an estate sale someday. the visible V8 has been released several times over the years but the visible chassis has only ever been released the once.
  21. Cool looking little truck. And leaving the splash aprons in place was not entirely uncommon back in the day. To remove the front fenders, the running boards and the rear fenders on a Model A was a simple job you need merely needed to unbolt them and lift them off. To remove the splash aprons was considerably more involved. You have to unbolt and lift the body to get them out. They are pinched in between the body and the frame rails. Oh, and the funny thing is I think those wheels are off of one of the Jada "Rat Rods" diecasts.
  22. Modelhaus are cast one piece. at least all of the ones that I have used from them. Top quality too.
  23. AMT/Ertl 1957 Chrysler 300C. Very well done multi piece easy to detail 392 cu in hemi and 3-speed TorqueFlite A488 automatic transmission.
  24. The AMT/Ertl 1969 Chevelle kit has the corvette style rally wheels in it with seperate center caps. The wheels are bare styrene and the caps are chrome. Pretty much every other kit that I can think of that has the corvette style rallys has the center cap molded as part of the wheel, not as a seperate piece. Not to say it hasn't been done, I just can't think of any that I have seen other than the 69 Chevelle.
