  1. I was never a fan of topless funny cars.........but I like this, Great Job
  2. Are you modifying a Revell Funny Car body?
  3. WOW! I've wanted to tackle a project like this for some time, but I lack courage. I crewed for a AA/FA in the 70s (see avatar) and have wanted to recreate it in scale for a long time . I'm defiantly following!
  4. Pretty
  5. People really are clueless, I've restored and painted many 1/1 cars over the years, and I'm constantly asked to paint someone's car ,when I give them the price, they think I'm nuts because Maaco can do it for $500.00.they think I should be able to do it cheaper and save them some money. What they don't understand is the paint and materials alone cost me $1500.00, they think I'm trying to rip them off and get offended when I tell them to go to Maaco.
  6. I agreed one time to build a model for a friend to give his father in law as a Christmas present, it was to replicate a car he once owned.he wanted it by Christmas, so now there's a deadline . He purchased the kit and paint that was supposed to be the correct color of the original car. The first paint job didn't turn out, no problem I tossed it into the purple pond, a day later the paint was gone but the body was melted. I went to the store purchased another kit just for the body, painted it with the same paint that was supposed to match and when my friend saw it he informed me it was the wrong color and it needed to be painted the correct color. At this point I'm wanting at least a photo of the car to go by, but it's supposed to be a surprise so no photo as it might give it away. I started doing research on original colors available on this car and the color wasn't even close. I purchased the correct color, tried sanding the body as I knew the purple stuff wouldn't work and repainted the body only to have the paint react badly with the previous paint. I returned to the store and purchased a third kit, painted the body and finally had success, only problem is now it's past Christmas. So go ahead and finish it we'll give it to him for another occasion. What color is the interior .....aaaa I don't know , I'll get back with you. Long story short 3 years, maybe 4 years have gone by still not finished, I purchased two kits and paint and reimbursement wasn't offered. I only build for me now!

  10. Very nice builds
  11. It's not technically the same kit, but I have 24 of the older style Revell Funny car kits and 24 of the Monogram style Funny car kits.
  12. Very nice build
  13. Thanks for the kind remarks !
  14. I didn't want to hijack another post, but his post got me looking at some of my old builds from 20 or so years ago. I don't think they look too bad in my opinion. Your opinions and comments are always welcome. The AMT 64 Ford is a what if . it started as a glue bomb I bought at a local show, I striped everything including the chrome as it was bad, some rattle can white and a set of JNJ decals from Jeff Gordon's rookie car. The Camaro is OOB Revell kit , only mod I made was to open front grill and install a mesh grill. The Tide Lumina started as a Days Of Thunder kit. Was originally be Ken Schraders Kodiak car after two failed paint jobs, I airbrushed the Tide scheme Fred Cady decals and automotive C/C
  15. Very cool idea, Great work!
