  1. Why not aluminum instead of brass ? Seems you could have polished and been done......
  2. Couldn't make the 40 Ford hood fit to my liking, sooooo, I went more conventional. Here's where I'm at today. 50s modified roadster. Model Master Acryl Blue Angel Blue and Phoenician yellow, wheels and grill insert. Chrome was really worn on this build up so I decided to use color. It's getting close to being finished. Comments always welcome.
  3. Hey Tubbs, we used to race on I44 west bound, get off at Southwest and race back on the eastbound ilanes if a rematch was needed. I remember nights where the shoulder of the highway was a parking lot with spectators watching the races. Then someone would holler COPS and pandemonium would break out.......Good Times.....Good Times.....
  4. Thanks for the kind words. This is the AMT 67 Camaro, they also did a 68 and a street machine version, they are available on E-bay. Eddie and his dad repainted the Camaro in their garage, but they used a generic white not Chevrolet white which was real bright, So I painted it Testors Model Master white, they have different shades and I picked one that I thought was close.
  5. Finally finished one. Got laid off again, decided to finish a couple old builds. This one fought me on the final assembly, the windshield is too long and kept the interior from sitting flush so all my hard work to raise the rear end went away, as the car now sits level....oh well it's done. This is Eddies Camaro as I remember it , and overall I'm pleased with the final result. It's no show winner and Pats butternut Camaro should come out better as I learned a lot on this one. Comments welcome ,good or bad ,as is suggestions.
  6. It's what modeling is all about, doing you own thing! Looks great!
  7. Thank you for stretching the wheel openings, in my opinion it looks much more finished than the tiny opening covering the tire!
  8. WOW. NICE
  9. After reading Gary's original post, I have posted my work area photos before, so I thought I would post my storage cabinets photos. This is where I store my paint. The cabinets are steel and came from a Texaco gas station that closed in 1975, the Blue cabinet originally held Oil Seals, and now holds paint , both bottle an spray. The red tool box was the first tool box I ever purchased, it now holds bottle paint, and My evergreen styrene. The lower yellow cabinet held ignition parts and now holds automotive paint. The quarts of Candy Apple lacquer are 38 years old and still good and useable. Some of my bottle paints are 20 years old. The trick to saving paint is don't let it freeze, and rotate the paint a couple times a year. The paint in the tool box is upside down, it helps to keep pigment suspended. I also picked up a Small Testors Paint rack from a hardware store going out of business, where I store modelcar spray cans.
  10. LOVE IT!!!!
  11. As an Auto Damage Appraiser for a large insurance company for 29 years this made my day, haven't laughed that hard in a long time. THANKS
  12. Took a ton of sanding to make that hood fit, found better tires,39 Ford grille, and big headlamps... They seem too low here, I have got to add body character line to hood next. Starting it think about a windshield, Im a little out of my league here as I normally do drag cars. Any help appreciated.

  14. Hmmmmm. Cut down a 40 ford hood, AMT Hemi????? Nail Head Buick ????
  15. If I mail you my motors, will you wire them for me. Mine never look that good.
