  1. Fantastic Chris!!!! Looks great.
  2. Gumball rally
  3. These guys are right. Words like incredible, fantastic come to mind but if there is a word beyond that, that would be the word. This is totally beautiful. Great job sir.
  4. A little more completed. A lot of masking . Painting the tubes orange. Rollbar framework etc. I thought the blue with orange tubes on the car would be a striking contrast.
  5. I have one now . Trying to figure out which version to build. Might even build the Viking blue 64 cars. My hardest part is going to make the ( Dan Gurney for president sticker)er decal.
  6. Bought this , Honda element ex awd with 70,000 for $5000. I work in the car industry so when I find a deal I buy it. No car payments. But I now have 11 so the wife said we need to get rid of a few. I have grand daughters that in a couple of years will need a car so two will go. The 65 mustang, 05 corvette, 70 barracuda and 70 challenger stays with me.
  7. P. S. If your into F1 I have most of the 1/20 tamiya kits. And around 20 1/12 kits. So if you like those I can get you one of those. I just gave away a Renault 1/12 f1 kit to a friend that had his house burned down in a fire. So if your into that let me know what interest you have and I will send it
  8. Hello Carl. This is a great question. When I first started to model, it was to get my fine motor skills back after a stroke. Built a model and found out we had a IPMS club in our area. Joined the club and had fun ever since. What happened to me was I was winning a few shows, and a club member that was the DeAgostini rep gave me a few big kits and now they give me kits all the time. Same with agora. So now I get bored with the big kits. I had them back off kits because my shed could only so many. I have a gull wing just about finished , but started on the Ferrari GTO. Which is also on hold. I have over 500 2/24-25 kits that I love to build. I have over 13 model factory kits that were given to me from Mark and Mr Hiro when he was alive. I started the 1/12 917/30, stopped on that, started the 935/78 and am just restating that project. But just recieved a 1/12 model factory hiro cobra Daytona coupe kit that might have to be built first. So I started my modeling career by building one at a time but as in life things change with the best of plans. Definitely not complaining, even happy, but things do change . Oh what also changed my modeling career was winning the special award at the IPMS nationals in Las Vegas, model companies are giving me models all the time. The kids love me at our local IPMS meetings. I’m giving away free models all the time. That’s probably the most fun. If you need more models, let me know and it will get more confusing. Merry Christmas
  9. Thank you Carl. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
  10. Masking, a lot of masking. And still masking
  11. Here it is completed, outside pic.
  12. Love you builds! Sorry about your son. Hope things work out for you and your family.
  13. Hello Pierre, yes there is a cover but I will not be using it. Looks cool with the exposed engine.
  14. Thank you Mattilacken. The rules are really strange but Porsche took advantage of them, BMW was very upset .
  15. Finally painted the chassis. Fitting the rear engine and trans. A lot of masking of the chassis tubes. They are going to be the same color as the wheels.
  16. Boy this one hits me in the head. It really depends on your situation. Only you know that. I’ll tell you my story, might help, might not . Health insurance is very important! It has helped immensely. Had a stroke around 15 years ago. Took 6 months to recover that one. Had prostate cancer just 1 year ago. Took 6 weeks to heal for that one. My insurance took care of most of it. Now I have 3 paid off houses all over the country. The house I’m in now is 1.1 million worth. But will go fast if you have to go to the hospital. I’m 68 and just took my social security. That’s $ 3146 a month. My income from my rentals are good. Taxes are to think about. I paid $23,000 last year. Because I’m still working plus rental income plus social security. So think about taxes. I like to travel but have 2 passports full of places my wife and I have went. When the world loved Americans. She now has a bad back so traveling now is out of the question. I really love my work. It’s like modeling 1:1. So I’ll work as long as my body allows it. Don’t really need the money but boredom and standing still will kill you. 8 out of my 10 friends died within 2 years after retirement. Sitting around kills you. The other two friends keep real active traveling, working on something and just moving. This is my story hope it helps.
  17. Thank you ChrisR
  18. Thank you Claude. That was one of my experiments on this kit. I sprayed them with citadel grey primer. Then tamiya spray can white. Then sprayed a brown citadel brown wash to highlite the curve in the pipes. It reacted like burned paint. I then airbrushed tamiya white in certain areas to get the brown wash calmed down. I’m very happy with the results. I’m behind schedule on the Porsche. I need to get art cardboard to fab out the rear wing on the 935
  19. You only have to be 10 percent smarter than the thing you’re working on to have success. This is why it takes me along time to make a model.
