  1. Nice job on the ol' Chevy! I like the real one too! BTW, this is the first car model I have seen that shows the wiper'ed windshield - and I really like the effect; adds realism and it takes the plasticky look out of it. This was a fairly common thing back then before the days of wiper washer systems. Dirt is an effective abrasive! Have fun in Flint! Ken
  2. Well, I am an engineer for GM; although I work in Interior Trim. Every Corvette since 1963 started out as a mid-engine variant. The issue has always been to try and create a midi, while still keeping the cost down to maintain the current customer base. The performance to cost ratio on the Vette is unmatched, (affordable performance) and GM has never shown an interest in creating a Ferarri or Lambi. Yes, GM could create a midi, BUT, the structural requirements, validation, and marketing risk is just something the company has consistently shied away from... Your concept car looks very much like what you could expect if GM were to ever create such a vehicle. I wouldn't really know for sure since GM's Design Department keeps a really tight box around Corvette's development - especially styling. By the way, we are working on the next generation Vette as we speak! It too started out as a midi... Nice Job on your concept car! Very Cool! Ken
  3. As a kid, I used to watch Batman every week. Seeing this car was always the highlight of the show. Yours is the best rendition I've seen of the real thing. I see it (or a replica of it) every year in Detroit's Woodward Cruise! It always gets a standing ovation.. Nice! Thanks! Ken
  4. Nice Build! I like your junk trailer idea. A couple of rusty engine blocks and old bumpers - very cool! Ken
  5. Beautiful Job! Every time I see a build of an early brass car, I can't help but wonder what it must have been like to own one of them. I have seen these on Ebay from time to time... and from the looks of it, I guess I don't need to hesitate to bid! Thanks for posting!
  6. I love 'em! Nice job! Ken
  7. The picture of the old cast-iron TurboGlide reminds me of the time when I replaced mine with a 350 TH in my 1:1 55 Chevy. It was one heavy sob. Ironically, the casting numbers on the tranny turned out to be from a '56. Can't get enough of the tri-fives! Ken
  8. She turned out great! I always thought the '60 Ford was a bit under-appreciated in it's time, but it holds its own as a true classic today. Nice Job! Ken
  9. Congratulations on your new son! He'll be building cars before you know it! Ken
  10. Definitely deserved a second chance - Nice Job! Ken
  11. I recently bought the MPC 1/20 Indy Turbine Car on EBAY (Now I am broke), and I wanted to strip the obnoxious chrome off the parts, so I was reading through this thread for tips. But I discovered yet another method on my own and thought I would share it with you. TSP Substitute. You can buy it at any hardware store. Just make sure that if you get the regular TSP, that you try it on a piece of sprue first before dunking the good parts. Worked in 30 minutes. (No smell either) Ken
  12. You sure know how to paint-em too! The colors; just WOW! The 49 Merc is my favorite. Ken
  13. I can easily picture Miss Jane and Mr Drysdale pulling up to the Clampet Mansion in this beauty! Remember? I am probably showing my age here. Ken
  14. Others have already said it, but I have to say it too.... that color combo is stunning! Nice Job! Ken
  15. This turned out GREAT! I had a 70-1/2 Camaro when I was stationed in Germany. Seeing this, I wish I still had it! Ken
  16. I finally started a Photobucket account, so please forgive me if it doesn't work the first time. This is a 1/32 Scale 1909 Cadillac Model 30. It was made by Pyro in the 60's, then re-released by Life-Like. This is the Like-Like version. The only thing I did other than straight out of the box is replaced the glass with thin plastic. Ken
  17. I love F1 and Indy cars. This one looks really great!
  18. I cant believe how real that engine looks! Nice Job! Ken
  19. Very close to real! I like the rear end treatment. Nice job! My first car was a 62 Biscayne 4 dr 6 cyl... Not a classic at all, but it was a good car. Ken
  20. Looks very real! "Whatcha gonna do when they come for you"! Nice!
  21. This is one of my favorite muscle cars. Brings back memories! Thanks! Ken
  22. Hello Everyone! I am new to this forum as I have been building models for many years. Recently, I have been working on my paper modeling skills. Here is my first automotive paper subject; scratch-build (paper, cardboard & wire) of the 1904 Oldsmobile. Sorry for the small pics - I do not yet have a photo account to post to. Ken
  23. This is my 55 Chevy. Restored it myself. Not perfect, but better than average driver. Ken
