Speaking of modern trailers, how modern & accurate is the Italeri 40ft Container Trailer? From just driving down the highway, it seems that 40ft containers are pretty common. In fact there is a Schnider driver that lives here in town that seems to always be hauling one.

These look really familiar. I think my LHS (JR Junction) has them in stock. If they are the same ones (and I think they are) they are about 1/32. If you'd like me to, I can head down there later this week & check them out.

I think they stopped painting them gold in the late 1970s.

For stripping chrome, I've found that Castrol Super Clean (aka Purple Stuff) works well. On some older stuff, you'll need to use Easy-Off once the chrome is gone to get rid of the laquer that is o the plastic. As for Mack Gold, I used Tamiya Gold Leaf X-12 on my 1975 Mack R685ST; and it's pretty close. Well, close enough for me.

Rumor has it that Revell USA is reissueing the Peterbilt 352 from the "Historic Series". Apparently it is supposed to be issued in Jume 2011. We'll see.

Eric, I like that K100 daycab. What kit did that start out as? I didn't know there was a 1/32 K100.

Ben, those wheels & tires look really nice, but $90 for 1/32 tires is a little pricey! I wonder if there is anything in the 1/35 military world that could by adapted. And why is it that 1/35 military models are so ralistic while 1/32 (and to some extent 1/25) models are so toy-like?

Most of the WWII tanks were pretty light comparted to the main battle tanks of today. The Jagdpanther Ausf. G & Panther Ausf. G being the exceptions at 50.15 tons & 49.4 tons respectively. The Panzer II Ausf. F was 9.6 tons, the T34/85 was 32 tons, and the SU100 was 34.8 tons. The M1A2 weighs 68.4 tons, and the Leopard 2A5 weighs 68.7 tons.

Maybe not a Cruiseliner, but at least some better wheels & tires.

I've been wanting to do this with a T-34/85. I need to make the lowboy first, though.

The Italeri kit is a LTL9000, and it's about a 1985 (give or take a little). There is currently no plastic kit of a WT9000. Personally, I think it would be a big hit. Anyway, that being said, The Back Yard Shed does offer a W9000 cab in resin. I've never seem one in person, but I've heard it's ok. There is rumor out that someone is making a W9000 cab in resin that will have some P/E. I'd like to see it because I want to make "The Blue Mule" from White Line Fever. We'll see.
