As Tom and Earl mentioned, I get the best results resizing images in Word. I also have an Epson XP 400 series and as Dale said, it will not print on Papillio paper. It makes exactly the mess you showed in your picture. I have not tried it with other decal paper, since Papillio is all I have. It is definitely the printer because I can print the same file on my ALPS printer and it comes out perfectly. If Tom's suggestion of not using decal paper will work for you, it's worth a try. My Epson will print nicely on photo paper, and make a mess on decal paper.
I hesitate to comment on your models because anything I say may not do justice to the amazing level of work you do. It's fascinating to watch your machining/detailing/scratch building. The results are spectacular!
Thanks, Larry!
Thanks, Jim. I know what you mean, these kits have some interesting parts, and they were really cheap at one time. I bought 3 of the "Off Road 4x4" F-150 kits for parts.
Thanks, Ray!
Thanks, Keith!
Lindberg kit. Just a quick build to experiment with some paint. The paint is Auto Air "Metallic Bronze" and "Root Beer" over a brown base. The grille is Spaz Stix chrome. Thanks for looking.
I've been using Duplicolor Perfect Match clear over Auto Air water based paint, and it's worked very well. It gets really hard and polishes nicely. It works best for me if I do light coats. When I do wet coats it gets bubbles in it that pop and turn into pits. That may be just me, but that's my experience.
Also, check out this guy, he seems to have it down:
I would add John Teresi and Marcos Cruz to your pantheon. Dann Tier aint no slouch either. In fact, there are a lot of incredibly talented builders on this forum. We are fortunate to see their work and learn from them. I myself am another clown.
Thanks, Tom! This line of paints has some amazing colors, and also transparents and candies. I'm really looking forward to experimenting with it to see what it can do.
