Use a good quality primer like Tamiya primers, you wont have issues like this, in my experience, its far better that Duplicolor primers. A real rule of thumb to try and follow is to stay with the same brands when it comes to painting, since you used Duplicolor primer, you should then use Duplicolor paint and then top it off with Duplicolor clear , that ensures 100% compatibly and issues like the cracking will not happen. The other real rule of thumb is to not mix and match paint types, there certain paint types you can and can not mix. When you air brush, you are able to kind of break these rules some to a degree and not have issues, but rattle cans, its a bit different. I everything I just said all has exceptions to it so keep that in mind as well. Put that body in the purple pond AKA Super Clean and it will be as good as new and ready for a fresh coat of Tamiya primer.

What's the latest Revell North America News
martinfan5 replied to Phildaupho's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I could be mistaken, but doesnt HL only add new kits when they basically do a reset or periodically through out year, its not like a LHS that put's them out when they come in, maybe I am wrong and confusing that with the reset they do . But I do know HL is a little behind getting new kits out on the shelves . -

Same for the two locations I visit. Here is another fun fact, HL , at least here, before minimum wages were raised , starting pay was $10 , well above at the time $7.25 hr mw, I have no idea what the starting pay is now. I just remember seeing on a sign posted on the doors. -
Airbrush compressor
martinfan5 replied to martin9428's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yes, I used that very same compressor from Harbor Freight for years( well , a few of them) they work and will get the job done, Ive achieved very nice paint jobs even with the so called pulsing, ive found that going above 20/25PSI is when they didnt work to well, just keep it under that. The other, they have a shelf life, Ive gotten about 1.5 years of use out of them before they stop, but I also build a ton of models a year so your life span may be longer. -

I am not fan of the boxes either, and I try to limit how many other kit boxes I stack on top them, but my real issue with them , at least for me, is once you take the contents out, those contents will never seem to go back in the way they came out, no matter how good you are at Tetris ( at least for me, it may be different for you)

Finished this one up, paint is Lamborghini Verde Ithaca Green from Scalefinishes, this was not my first color choice to paint it, wanted to go with a Orange but I was not able to get it mixed up. Over all, this is not a great kit, there is whole lot of stuff that just does not fit good, the side windows dont seat in the opening, the rear end piece doesnt fit at all unless trim some off of the chrome taillight piece. The rocker panel pieces dont fit all that great either. The real car comes in this odd Carbon Fiber pattern( interior, engine compartment, wing) that no one has accurately done in decals yet. It was very hard photographing this color, had to go darker on the exposure to even kind of capture the correct shade and not have it blown out . I did use some bits from the Detail Up Set. Kurts Monster Fusion for the 2018 All Star race, the only time in 2018 that Monster was the full sponsor, all my patented pending mods were made, lowered ride height, missing roll bars added, plug wires and ECU wires added, steering shaft in the cockpit added, along with the wedge bolts and rear window braces, and I added the vent hose in the rear. Leg braces added to the seat and removed the molded in fuel line and replaced it went round stock. I made the high down force spoiler and splitter. All the decals used are from Powerslide. Paint was Mr Hobby Black Primer, followed by Tamiya SGB , all air brushed, then decals, then a coat of clear, but I used the wrong clear, I used Testors Dullcoat instead of Tamiya Flat Clear so it changed , whoops.
