  1. I had to drop off my car at the dealership this morning, so I dropped by The Hobby Lobby That I Never Go To Because It Is Out Of The Way and did my first official Senior Activity since turning 60 last month. I went in between 9:00 and 10:00! They had two of the Supernatural Impalas in stock, merchandised right next to the SS hardtop, in the slot marked for the 70 SS Chevelle. I grabbed one, put it under my arm, and pulled out my phone for the coupon. I started thinking about what it would take to make it a decent replica stock, and put it back. Maybe I will wait until we see what the second iteration of this kit will be and grab one then.
  2. I can't see the engine very well. Oldsmobiles have the center ports together like a SBC and some of the 40 Ford versions came with an Olds. I am not sure what was around in 1963 though.
  3. Seems to take forever to get new kits at HL around here. I can only ASSume that the containers from China go to Round2 in South Bend, then HL's warehouse in OK City, then are distributed to the stores. Pretty much the same thing for Revell. That kit that rumbled through here on I-80 may take 3 months to rumble back here on another truck to the store.
  4. Because the series hero car has a Tijuana tuck and roll front seat. Does look like a Galaxie pattern now that you mention it....
  5. I was at my LHS yesterday and their supply of MM paint is getting depleted. They did not have any #2756 nor did they have a spot for it in the rack. According to the Testors website, the #2724 Stoplight red is described as "metallic" and the #2756 is not. I don't build a lot of cars with clear or chrome taillights, so I don't have a lot of experience with this. I to typically use Tamiya and/or a sharpie. The spousal unit has a set of Sharpies that include all of the normal lens colors, plus I have my own red one. My bottle of Stoplight red dates from the beginning of the Modelmaster line, I think.
  6. I think that Casey failed to notice the tongue in your cheek, Paul.....
  7. Is FTB getting an M100 shop truck?
  8. Looks like Kris Morgan has a conversion for the Moebius trucks into Mercurys. I don't see it on the website, so you will probably have to message him.
  9. If it wasn't for social distancing and such, something like this would be a huge hit in the game room at my office. Can't see it happening for a while now.
  10. I have the Squire, and they are quite nice, especially the body. I have been carefully grinding the interior tub's wheel wells up a bit. I hope to be able to use the full radius of the donor kit's wheel wells and only have to cut a slice off the inside for clearance. Completely removing them and using the interior tub's wells isn't what I want to do. I am also going to modify and move the donor chassis' fuel tank and add a spare tire well behind the RR wheel.
  11. swilling baby hamsters
  12. Canadians do strange things when the weather gets warm......
  13. Having owned several Ford "shock tower" cars, it really bothers me that AMT totally ignored the upper shock mount on these kits, plus the tower itself is a little too large. Scott at Futurattraction casts the mounts from an original kit and IMHO they help the look of the engine compartment immensely. Here is a '67 289 underhood shot for those of you who don't know what I am talking about. Mounts aren't the same as a Mustang. The Fairlane uses a stud. Mustang uses a "T" mount.
  14. many blah-blahs uttered
  15. I would love a wagon of any of these. Unfortunately, the 69 Chevelle and 66 Fairlane wagons are on a different wheelbase than their 2-door cousins. Makes things a little more difficult. It will definitely be interesting to see what Round2 gives us.
  16. Wonder who the first caster to offer a correct Sport Sedan front seat will be? Looks like Round2 faithfully replicated the Tijuana tuck and roll in the real Supernatural car(s).
