  1. Time to get a new one....
  2. You don't get mailed registration notices in Styrenestan? Here at the other end of US 50, they mail out notices about 2-3 months in advance. And I kind of remember March, July, and January as our registration months anyway. CA DMV has also put kiosks in several retail locations so if you can't/won't/didn't renew online, you can renew at the grocery store.
  3. Well, as we are generally a group of Old Farts here...... This stuff sticks to human skin quite well and to itself even better. The spousal unit has had several surgeries that were glued/bandaged for a couple weeks with orders not to soak in water. PressNSeal worked amazingly to keep said glue/bandage places relatively dry in the shower. Especially after the shoulder replacement surgery. Maybe Glad should make a commercial promoting this?
  4. Tamiya makes a red primer now that might make a good topcoat, especially if you put a light coat of Dullcote over it.. I usually use auto parts store brand like Rustoleum for unfinished areas of floorpans though. It works just as well in that application and is much cheaper than Tamiya.
  5. I don't generally build race cars, but I got one of their Mustang GT4s. I predict that Guido would like it and it would look great with his other Mustangs! It is a very nice kit.
  6. Dig up a resin Barracuda hardtop transkit?
  7. Blue Candy? I like that one a lot. The 2014 was Performance Blue with black leather. A little darker, but we didn't have much choice. Had the "Titanium Handling Package" with 18x8 wheels and 235/40-18 Michelin summer tires. Was a hoot in the twisties for just a fancy econobox. That package went away in 2016 or 2017 unfortunately. I miss it in the 2018. Looked like this one:
  8. Both of our Focii have been Titaniums. Manual Titaniums are about as common as chicken lips. They started offering them part way through 2012. They were available in theory in 2013, 2014, and part of 2015. Dealers didn't order very many of them, and the ones who did order them around here only ordered the ugliest colors and didn't order them with nav, sunroof, or the handling package.
  9. I wish them the best, but I don't see myself subscribing. It will have to be distributed to newsstands or my LHS will have to carry it for me to ever buy it. My current LHS has never carried any magazines of any type that I am aware of.
  10. We had a '14, now have an '18. The '14 started shuddering on takeoff. The dealer did a firmware update and installed the latest clutchpack and it was fine. The repair order said that they replaced the seals, but I suspect that was something they billed Ford for and didn't actually do. It was typically the earlier models that leaked. The '14 should have had the updated seals already.
  11. We used to eat at a Vietnamese restaurant just across a small parking lot from where Hugh Scrutton was killed in 1985. It was a weird feeling to be there.
  12. Let me refer you back to Paul Hettick's "I'm gonna make resin Ford station wagons" thread. I realize that they aren't styrene kits that you can get at Hobby Lobby for 40% off of MSRP, but I think that a grand total of two of us on this board actually have one after pages and pages of "that's great" and "I'll buy some". The other member that I know of that has one commented that it cost him more to get the kit than the 1:1 back in the day that he wants to replicate in 1/25.
  13. For as long as the Torino has been in their arsenal, one would think that if a Cyclone based on it was coming out that it would have happened a long time ago. I too would like to see modern kits of the Mustang and Cyclone.
  14. OK, just for fun, I did a light coat of SpazStix over a piece of chrome tree from the kit (without the black undercoat). It matches the kit chrome well enough that I may go forward with modifying this bumper to fit better and then SpazStixing it just before installation.
  15. I don't work for the "right" department (sales or marketing) to go, but my company spends a huge amount to have a booth there, along with "The Mother Ship". It is very lucrative for us because of all the sales we make there. Lots of sadness today because of this announcement, but it wasn't unexpected.
  16. I haven't looked at my decals under a high powered magnifier, but I think this is what they were trying for.
  17. As far as interiors go, I like the Tamiya Flat + Nose Oil method. Most semi-gloss paints are too shiny for me unless you are building a car with a vinyl interior that has been soaked in Armor-All.
  18. It appears to me that the marker is mostly in the right place vs. the point on the fender cap, but the point on the fender cap is in the wrong place vs. the taillight divider. Oh, well. Mine will be either a gut donor for an AMT body or it will sit on the Shelf of Doom until I can score a rear bumper that doesn't have screwed up chrome.
  19. Smell My Life?
