Sorry to hear that Ron. Their service was excellent in my transaction, but I have noticed that their feedback is either very positive or very negative. I want to preorder a Sandman, but I may wait until they actually arrive in stock.

Alan, there is a picture of mine in the "What did you get...." thread, but it is still in the (open) box.

Return of the 1/25 MPC '68 Coronet/Super Bee RT Convertible...
Rodent replied to '70 Grande's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
LHS had one Coronet on the shelf yesterday ($37.99). It's not on my "Gotta have it right now" list, so I left it there. -
Got my Holden today. Way more parts in here than I expected. Thanks to Wes for the Hearns tip. Thanks to Hearns for the quick processing of my order. I wish the bumpers were plated, but I guess I can handle that. Amazing box and artwork.

Seems like I have seen a resin top for the GTX somewhere, but I can't remember where right now. -

I just posted a memory. I didn't know him, but he was one of the few members that I consistently followed. I suggest that everyone here that has a memory of Roger do the same.

'40 Ford Truck dashboard
Rodent replied to Belugawrx's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sorry guys, I was focused on the instrument cluster itself and never noticed that the panel stamping is different between the pickup and the car. -
'40 Ford Truck dashboard
Rodent replied to Belugawrx's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't have any of these, but the Revellogram '40 Convertible is a Deluxe trim, so that might be a good place to look. -
Mine hit the states early this morning. I expect to have it in a few days.

Best glue for painted parts
Rodent replied to stevez's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You never saw my mother dusting Dad's Monogram Duesenberg, AMT '49 Ford, or Monogram Big T. She dished out more abuse than I would have if I had been allowed to play with them. -
Have you ordered from them before? I got the feeling it was for new customers. Anyway, I have a couple of Kiwi friends and an ex-colleague Kiwi and I think they would agree with your assessment, LOL.

I ordered the GTS for $69.99 AUD with $29.99 AUD shipping to California. You get a big popup with a WELCOME10 coupon code for $10 AUD off. Total was $89.98 AUD which is currently $59.56 USD or $96.55 NZD or €57.05, based on exchange rates I see now. A bit of money for a somewhat crude kit, but it is an unusual subject. And I feel better about that than $39.95 USD for some of the new issues from the US players.

Prop 13 in California (I am sure David remembers that) keeps them from being able to raise property taxes willy-nilly. They can only raise it so much per year which is a huge benefit for long-time owners in this crazy real estate market.. The house we bought just about 30 years ago for $150k is still only appraised at $246k for tax purposes, even though its market value is closer to $550-575k. David, I don't know how it works in Kansas, but you may be able to get your house independently appraised and challenge your tax bill. Or that may just prove that your house is indeed worth $100k more this year.

Preventing Tamiya Spray Can Runs/Bubbles
Rodent replied to TheCamaroKid's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't know what has happened, but the gloss Tamiya I have purchased in the last couple of years seems to go on "dryer" than I remember, including the TS-13. I am not sure what to do, but I may have to give up the TS-13 and start airbrushing clear instead. The flats and primers seem to still be fine. -
Gravity colors USA problems?
Rodent replied to Polaco's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have just started experimenting with this. I bought some paint from Scalefinishes. So far I only used one color, but I was pretty happy with the way it sprayed out. I felt that it worked best at the higher end of the recommended pressure, but that was just me and my airbrush. -
This is what I thought when I saw that it was coming.

Kris makes a really HEI distributor that I like to include as an upgrade in my "restored" GM models. Firing order and cylinder ID diagrams like these are pretty easy to find on the internet if you want the routing to be accurate to the 1:1.
