I ordered the GTS for $69.99 AUD with $29.99 AUD shipping to California. You get a big popup with a WELCOME10 coupon code for $10 AUD off. Total was $89.98 AUD which is currently $59.56 USD or $96.55 NZD or €57.05, based on exchange rates I see now. A bit of money for a somewhat crude kit, but it is an unusual subject. And I feel better about that than $39.95 USD for some of the new issues from the US players.

Prop 13 in California (I am sure David remembers that) keeps them from being able to raise property taxes willy-nilly. They can only raise it so much per year which is a huge benefit for long-time owners in this crazy real estate market.. The house we bought just about 30 years ago for $150k is still only appraised at $246k for tax purposes, even though its market value is closer to $550-575k. David, I don't know how it works in Kansas, but you may be able to get your house independently appraised and challenge your tax bill. Or that may just prove that your house is indeed worth $100k more this year.

Preventing Tamiya Spray Can Runs/Bubbles
Rodent replied to TheCamaroKid's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't know what has happened, but the gloss Tamiya I have purchased in the last couple of years seems to go on "dryer" than I remember, including the TS-13. I am not sure what to do, but I may have to give up the TS-13 and start airbrushing clear instead. The flats and primers seem to still be fine. -
Gravity colors USA problems?
Rodent replied to Polaco's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have just started experimenting with this. I bought some paint from Scalefinishes. So far I only used one color, but I was pretty happy with the way it sprayed out. I felt that it worked best at the higher end of the recommended pressure, but that was just me and my airbrush. -
This is what I thought when I saw that it was coming.

Kris makes a really HEI distributor that I like to include as an upgrade in my "restored" GM models. Firing order and cylinder ID diagrams like these are pretty easy to find on the internet if you want the routing to be accurate to the 1:1.

I did see that. It would appear that a GTS 4-door would have to be a 1973 or 1974, if this line from Wikipedia is true: Two four-door sedan variants of the Monaro GTS were released in March 1973

Do these represent any particular model year? Other than colour choices that changed year-to-year, are there any other changes in the cars themselves? Speaking of the GTS in particular.

Assessment value of my house is currently a fraction of its actual worth, thanks to Proposition 13.

What is your oldest unfinished W.I.P

And you are still waiting for it? LOL Seriously, I have had a partially built one for longer than that. Maybe yours will give me inspiration to get it back on the bench. -
Around here, the ATMs won't give you your money until you have removed your card.

I don't love the '68 A bodies enough to commit to that, I prefer the '69 and '70 versions of all of them. All I was saying is if they had cloned the promo chassis exactly it would have been much easier to make a nice curbside out of this kit. I hope the '65 doesn't suffer the same fate. That said, I am not bashing and I hope that Round 2 digs many more of these old kits out of their mother's basement and makes them available again. I may not buy all of them, but someone will and that makes it all good.

I watched HPI Guy's GTO build last night. I am sad that Round 2 didn't make the rear axle and exhaust a separate part. It appears that the promo was made that way, from the pics I have been able to find on the internet.

All of a sudden I am getting this. I understand the http / https error that Chrome always gives, but I haven't seen this one here for a while.

We would have to ask one of our resident experts like Mr. Darby, but it's a fair assumption that the production decal sheet wasn't finalized or printed when the box art models were built.
