Revell 32 Ford Roadster REVISED (former Rat Roaster tool)

I shot one with the Duplicolor engine paint over Tamiya pink primer and it came out great IMHO. Using a primer definitely helps the engine paint cover better with fewer coats (again IMHO). One thin coat covered very well and it agreed with the Tamiya primer.

What did you see on the road today?

Ugh. When I was 14, my parents and I went to northern Alabama to visit my dad's family. It was a bit of a culture shock for me, but fun. My grandmother had a 20-30 pound mutt. One afternoon, there were maybe 10-12 of us sitting on her porch, and the dog walked up from the yard, flopped down, and proceeded to "do that" and seemed to enjoy having an audience. Everyone was watching in silent polite horror. My slightly younger cousin Greg suddenly blurted out, "Steve, did you teach him that trick?" Of course, I was mortified.

We have been asked to not do anything that uses excessive amounts of power from 4-9 PM. Laundry, dishwasher, unnecessary lights, etc. And yes, charging cars. The folks I know that own EVs and PHEVs are already charging on off-peak hours anyway because the power is cheapest then. Saying that Californians can't charge their "mandated" electric cars and leaving out the 4-9 PM part is borderline fake news. -
I saw in the "What Did You Get Today" thread that @niteowl7710 recently received one.

Phone says it's 115 in my area, expected to reach 116. It's 111 outside my south-facing front eaves in the semi shade. I am in an eastern suburb of Sacramento.

It's all cool if it helps pay the bills...... LOL

Dude, aren't you like 6' 5" or something? Not exactly built for underdash work.
-
True, and no worries. Not sure what you are building, but there are several versions of the Revell '68 out there. Some only have the parts to build the Bullit car, and some have stock CJ/GT parts as well. They are all big blocks. The version you have pictured can built to resemble a 390 GT or a 428 CJ.

Not generally a NASCAR builder, but I ordered two directly from Salvino's last night.

Still no Poyglas or Wide Oval tire kits.
Rodent replied to Mike C.'s topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
One could argue that the Polyglas and Wide Ovals are just this for pre-1971 cars. -

The "FORD" letters appear to be 2+ scale inches high, but the overall shape of the hood doesn't look awful to me. I have an original, a couple of hardtops, and a couple of promos. I will have to dig them out and inspect.- 216 replies

"Avocado" sounds a lot like the Portuguese word for attorney.

This was a lot of fun for a newly-minted 20-year old. Laying in the sun, drinking (!), chilling, and listening to four bands for $15. I believe that my ticket was a birthday gift from friends.

Yes. I have a friend that works for the local railroad museum and he mentioned that. Their steam excursion locomotive has been offline now for a while, I have forgotten why. -

At what point did you stop reading what this was really about? And what does this have to do with electric Dodge Chargers? -

Modelhaus used to offer them in chrome and plain. They are now available in plain (unplated) from their son who is still selling wheels and tires. https://www.modelhaustires.com/collection/802- 216 replies

Not so much an irk, and maybe TMI, but.... Was fairly hot here today, but I went for about a 4 mile walk anyway. Got home, A/C was cranked, but I peeled off my shirt and started making some food. Making some semi-prepared stuff that needed some microwave time and 20 minutes in a 375 oven. No prob, I put a small cookie sheet in the oven and heated it when the oven was preheating. Microwave time was done, I opened the oven door and grabbed the cookie sheet with a single potholder. For some stupid reason, it rotated around between my right thumb and first two fingers and the corner of the 375 degree cookie sheet stopped when it contacted my right nipple. Yes, it hurt. Still hurts. Probably won't be sleeping on my stomach tonight.

Started playing with Hot Wheels and Matchbox again….

I have a bunch of 1/64 stuff at work. The Hooobie Lubie 1/64 semi-truck cases will hold 10-12 1/64 cars sideways and are stackable. I will try to remember to take a pic Tuesday when I am back in the office. The BP Mazda 3 is kinda cool, what is it? Hot Wheels or ? -
Question about Ford's Toploader 4-speed
Rodent replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
My '68 Mustang J-code that came to me in 1977 with around 55k miles had a bare cast iron case and an aluminum bellhousing. Tailshaft housing was cast iron as well, IIRC. -

Desalination of sea water seems like a noble idea, but the byproduct is warm salty slush. Not the best stuff to put back in the ocean. I guess one could pump seawater a few hundred miles inland, have the desalination plant there, and make a warm salty lake?
