  1. That's the reason I only participate in private groups on Facebook. It's not that I'm trying to hide my hobby, but why does somebody I went to college with 10 years ago need to know that I'm asking a question about Tamiya paint compatibility on a model car group?
  2. Neither do I but there's plenty of people willing to print a file for you for a fee. If you really want the pieces, definitely go down that route.
  3. I don't think he prints them for sale anymore. But the file is available for purchase on cults: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/1-25-square-body-trim I already purchased the file and will find someone to print them down the line.
  4. Ebay is #1 for me. As a buyer, you can find some real gems there at good prices. I'm also on various facebook selling groups.
  5. I believe that's a P&P resin piece. I have one that looks exactly like it. The glass and interior from the Revell 1980 Ford Ranger fit right in. Anyhow, excellent work! You did a great job capturing the spartan look of a fleet truck interior.
  6. Upscale Hobbies is a good business and Chris is a good person to deal with. I'm sorry about your experience but I would not tell people to beware.
  7. It's coming along great! I'm loving the progress.
  8. Please post your results. I'd be very interested in seeing them.
  9. I've seen some use TS-33 Dull Red. I haven't used it personally, but I bought a can to have it on hand for a Chevy C-1500 project I have planned. My goal is also to duplicate the Garnet Red interior.
  10. Tamiya TS-26 Pure white over Mr. Hobby white primer.
  11. Great build, I love the municipal truck look. I just had some of those same tool boxes printed for me. Did you foil or paint them?
  12. Thank you all for your advice. I guess I should have clarified from the get go that I always prime my bodies.
  13. Should I have any issues with bleed through for this color? I want to paint it white. Or is bleed through usually only an issue with bright colors such as red, yellow, etc?
  14. Any more progress on this one?
  15. I'm really liking the progress on this.
  16. That came out great! I bought the Tamiya Camel Yellow a while back to use on future contractor/municipal truck projects, so I'm happy to see how it looks on a kit. Is it just me or is that 3rd brake light ridiculously long?
  17. Again, I think that goes back to examining how sales of other vintage police car kits have gone. I realize it's a different company, but AMT has had more police re-issues recently and I wonder how those kits have done (including the CHP Monaco). As an outsider, I would think that you could find some ROI in using an existing tooling as a basis for a new variant never released before. Plus the 1996 Caprice is one of those cars that just about every agency used, so the possibilities would be endless.
  18. I wonder how sales have been for the recent re-issues of the 94 Impala SS and other older-style police car kits. We're at the point where a re-release of the Caprice could be marketed as a "vintage police car." If Revell could include a comprehensive decal sheet with NYPD/other major agency markings and some light bars, wheel options, and other goodies, I think it would stand a chance. They could even re-tool the Impala SS into a 1994-1996 Caprice since I know the original 91 Caprice tooling was changed to make the SS. That would probably be more realistic than making the significant body changes back to a 91. A 1994-1996 Caprice police car would technically be an all new kit ?
  19. Beautiful build. Nice work!
  20. Great color choice. Well done.
  21. Iceman Collections is working on a W/T grill. I would love other stock wheel options, a bench seat, and mirrors. Maybe @Oldmopars & @Texas_3D_Customs can help?
  22. Thanks guys! Your comments are much appreciated.
  23. Thanks guys! Thanks, a great compliment to receive! Thanks! Ha, I've had a few posters on facebook mention seeing these on the I-10 back in the day as well.
