  1. NIce! I built that kit as a youngster!
  2. Glad to see it finished! Sad to see you chickened ? on the weathering! I was here for you! ?
  3. Very cool build! I have the body, just haven’t gotten anywhere near it. That is the 300 wagon that was sold in Europe. Back when I worked for the British company my colleague in England was quite proud to drive me around in it.
  4. Yes! Frank is a Hudson guy! And it’s good to be king! As far as the Chrysler to Desoto progression, there’s no telling what Moebius intended to do. Note that the company was sold to Pegasus, and that acquisition was a huge purchase for a small company, so they may not have funding to move ahead with a bunch of new projects.
  5. It wasn’t as organized and efficient back when we were kids! Yes there was a Herbie the Love Bug model that came out right with the movie, but there was lots of missed opportunities.. for instance in 1968 there was no Speed Racer cars. At 10 I would’ve eaten those up ! Today? A whole aisle of merch is n stores months before the new Disney movie!
  6. Poo ? flavored toothpaste!
  7. The band bus... aka old airport limo. Don't include it in this round, I won't be able to work on it. I'll be lucky to get the Jeepster done!
  8. I like it! I will be watching. I built the two identical 1950 Chevy pickups at the same time. There was an economy of time and effort to spraying all the parts at the same time and doing two assemblies side by side. Identical is easy. I also built my two different Dodge Caravans together. Adds in the dimension of having to keep track of which parts etc go to each. And now I have two Jeepsters going, that will be very different. Using options in the kit, one will be the four passenger convertible and the other is a pickup. I have also substituted in a different engine into the pickup. I’m finding it a mixed bag to build this way. There is the issue that you don’t want to start the same kit again right after finishing one. It does take longer to build two. I do find myself concentrating on one that is moving ahead quicker. And it can get confusing at times. I am building these from a big parts box and have caught myself prepping and painting three of the same parts! I do have four engines sitting on the bench.
  9. My guitars! Instruments for my band bus!
  10. Very cool!
  11. Pennsylvania Turnpike this afternoon.. 1967-69 Dodge Dart, stripped down for resto , no nose. It did have a roll bar
  12. I never had a desire for promos. As said, they’re pretty much for collectors and I’m a builder by nature. If I had valuable promos, it would be killing me not to “improve” them with detailing that would destroy their collector value. Per warping, yes that’s a major problem should you want to base a model project from an old promo! See the extensive warping on the 59 Chevies from my collection. I didn’t specifically buy these, but acquired them as part of a collection. I do find that a lot of the subjects are already available as later better kits such as the 2 door hardtop. Others have been cast in resin from a fairly clean unwarped original promo body. People have said the warping continues, but I believe the warping was from the gas out period of the plastic and should be stable now. The above photo was taken in 2001, I can probably pull these cars out of storage to see how the last 19 years have treated them. I have bought a bunch of promos from the later styrene period. I prefer to find damaged ones I feel justified in redoing to my requirements. I have a bunch of 1960s Ramblers, especially the sedans and wagons to build into projects one day. I also have a few perfect Ramblers that I admire for their condition and survival. Those I wouldn’t modify, and will pass on to a collector someday.
  13. I don’t get some states.. I see in the Indy announcement that cases are up in Indiana, but I read there was a model car show there last weekend. And Sturgis can be a problem since the attendees come from around the entire country. An opportunity to spread the virus far and wide.
  14. Accomplished nothing this week! I started a new job after my 6 months as a house cat and have been struggling with my new life of getting up early and going to office!
  15. Heck, I remember the days before we even had pictures of our models! When I first got Internet, I ran a dedicated phone line to the computer directly from the box to computer with no breaks. It still sucked. I can still hear that modem dialing up AOL! And I had a friend who told me that was as good and as fast as it would ever get! He held up a phone cord and reasoned that there was only so much room in that wire. I’d love to run into him today!
  16. That’s a good kit to reissue! It appeared briefly and then totally disappeared. I never got even one. You never saw them for sale at shows
  17. What’s interesting is that this isn’t all that far from what we drove back in the day. Summer of 1976 my friend Mark came home from college and purchased a 1969 Chevy Impala 4 door sedan as his summer car. Note that this car was only 7 years old but the body had lots of visible rust and the interior was tattered. It ran marginally and we all thought of it as a heap. He paid a few hundred dollars for it.
  18. You are correct. The TV car had that so Round 2 copies it. Someone on the board here is resin casting a corrected front bench. Or you could go with some odd bucket seats like a young guy may add
  19. That’s scary cool John! I watched the TV series and your build thread too
  20. At least complete the underside of engine etc. That’s what I’ve done in my Dodge van based vehicles.
