  1. Cool! I have an original Racers Wedge mint in the box. My grand parents were famous in our family for buying Christmas gifts on sale all year long and hiding them in their basement. Early in my stint as a adult modeler, I went to their house for dinner and told them I was building model cars. My grandfather had been cleaning 50 years of basement and said he had found a model. He came back upstairs with a sealed Racers Wedge kit! No doubt bought for me when I was 12! It was worth more then than it is now and our local model dealer tried to talk me out of it, but nothing doing! It was a gift from my grandpa! Still have it.
  2. Maybe closer to a salami... it does need refrigeration while Spam is inert. My wife once asked me about Gyro meat.. I told her it was like a ferret from Greece
  3. I marvel that as much tooling as we have still exists! While a lot of guys moan about what’s missing! Name another business where so much survives!
  4. But of course you guys knew it! Big battle whether it’s pork roll or Taylor ham.. depends on which end of the state you live in! A local thing.. I was out in Seattle last summer and they had never heard of it! Some folks slice it thin, but I do mine thick and sometimes out on the grill. This summer I’ve been serving burgers with a thick slab on top!
  5. Very sorry to learn this! My prayers and best wishes to your family!❤️
  6. Who can identify these on my grille? Hint- New Jersey delicacy!
  7. Oh cool your engines! Back when eBay was more a collector to collector medium (rememberer it was originally conceived to sell Pez dispensers) I sold a lot of stuff. I shipped once a week and all my auctIons (which all ended on Sunday evening) stayed that I shipped every Saturday for payments received by Friday. That was back when payments came in the mail. Today eBay has sellers trained like dancing poodles that they need to ship immediately. And buyers now expect it, which is one of the reasons I don’t sell anymore
  8. Bonus points for using your NNL East ruler! We designed it to be both a ruler and centering tool and had them made by a scientific tool company, kinda costly but worth it. We did them in hopes that more people would learn to work in scale vs approximating. (We gave them away in the goodie bags) We didn’t get a lot of feedback, so we were hoping people were using them.
  9. Why did every kid use the custom tail lights on old screw bottom cars? ?
  10. During the pandemic I was desperate and figured I wasn’t gonna be seen anyway so I put the 1/2” attachment on my electric razor and did my entire head. I determined it looked good enuf and I don’t see myself paying for a haircut again!
  11. Very nice line of Mercedes!
  12. Any of the glass you need, Bonnie and T-bird are flat enough to use plastic sheet as replacements. Lotsa brush paint to soak but that 57 T- bird custom is kinda cool!
  13. Are you on LinkedIn? Today it’s pretty much who you know. If you need help with it, let me know!
  14. And there are stock height 4 door sedan resin bodies available for both. Just be careful because there are also chopped versions
  15. You could eliminate that fuel filler and put a simple one on the bed floor right above the tank
  16. It’s great that you’ve written this book and Mark has added his input. That’s super documentation of our hobby! So much history has already been lost !
  17. I know the model you are building! What color is the car.. it’s easiest if it’s white. Inkjet decals will work. Do you have artwork done? And to scale?
  18. Once you have the chassis up on wheels, hover it over some old Fords.. these mini pickups fit well under things like 1940 Fords.. just some evil thoughts for ya!
  19. Friends of ours had a Topaz of that era. They were (and still are) very impulse and easily sold. A local dealer had a sales event going on at the mall and they bought the car. No test drive, nothing! That Saturday morning they went to pick it up and I got the phone call.. could I come and drive their new car home? They had no idea that they bought a car with a clutch! And of course neither of them could drive it! It became a very frustrating day for me. I had to teach them to drive this car.. the wife was catching on but the husband wasn’t.. which led to tempers and...
  20. Ya know... what irks me is the political war that’s been turned up full volume unto November (or later). I don’t even want to turn on the TV or even read the news!
  21. So sorry Rick! Prayers from Pennsylvania !
  22. Round 2 really works all the angles! If people are willing to buy special editions like this, more power to them!
