Jeep CJ Howe Fire Truck
Tom Geiger replied to Oldmopars's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Reminds me of this one! It belonged to the local FD in Hazlet, NJ. Was used for brush fires. I do have an album of photos of it if you'd like. -
I dunno! My wife's grandmother came to the US from Ireland when she was 15. She lived in Brooklyn most of her life and died in her 90s. She still had her brogue like she had just come down the ship gangplank!

Versatile people are in the minority these days, most folks are stuck in their ways and live in The Land of Can't.

That is downright cool! And I've never seen this kit before. Suddenly I need one! -
Your biggest blunder
Tom Geiger replied to LL3 Model Worx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This was the model room in my old house. We went away for a weekend and there was a big storm. I came home to this mess... the shelves over my work bench let go. Apparently I didn't use long enough screws. All my unfinished projects came tumbling down. None of the boxes opened. No paint spilled. My parts cabinets got shook up. To this day I find stuff in the wrong bins. And no models got totaled in this mess. My 50 Ford pickup was on the bench for a repair and this was the worst thing that happened. The bottom shelf did come down, but settled on boxes a bit higher than the roof. I easily glued the front bumper back on. It could've been much worse! As we left for the weekend on Friday, we found that the kennel we were putting the dog in was closed for 2 hours over lunch. So we went back home, and I did a minor repair on one of my epic builds that had been sitting on the bench. It was safely back in my display case! I have the same bench and same shelves in my current house. But now the shelves are anchored so well that those screws might be visible outside through the siding! -
2023 Cannonball Run Build Theme Suggestions
Tom Geiger replied to White Rabbit's topic in Community Builds
Gee, a build for Lambos... that would be boring. I was thinking more along the lines that we'd be building custom chassis for a mid engine -
Touch my junk and you'll pull back a bloody stump!

2023 Cannonball Run Build Theme Suggestions
Tom Geiger replied to White Rabbit's topic in Community Builds
I like the mid engine theme.. would be interesting to see what folks come up with.. but it may eliminate some guys with average skills -
My company sends out fake emails to snag people. If you click on it your boss gets an email and you have to take a class. The emails look too good and lots of folks get snagged. My employee got caught by a fake Amazon receipt. It supposedly had a return address other than Amazon.. guess what? Amazon emails come from varying addresses! When I complained their reply was that my employee shouldn’t be on Amazon on company time! Um.. the free snacks we put in the coffee rooms all are ordered on Amazon! Snack delivery!

Super! I remember this one Terry! The perfect vehicle to take to shows to upset the motorcycle class! -
Best of luck! It’s worth it in the end

What did you see on the road today?
Tom Geiger replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
On Thanksgiving Day I saw two Rivians on the Turnpike. I’ve seen a pickup before but the SUV was new to me. -

The other night we were at one of our favorite restaurants... family sitting at a table. Parents and a boy about 12. All nose down in their phones!
