  1. I stopped using it for that reason. Now I use Tamiya Tape for the fine work. Put it on just like you would BMF, work it into the seam and then cut with xacto. It works much better
  2. Interesting thing about that kit is that you can build a stock VW and still have a complete dragster chassis. I was thinking of using it on a Dauphine body I have. And that was the last run of the old IMC VW! No telling what happened to the tooling after that!
  3. r Not sure... this is the one I have in 1/32 scale. Always said, "Johan tooled from factory blueprints, Premiere tooled from memory!"
  4. I have the Premier Falcon. Aside from the fact that it's too short, too narrow and too tall it's a perfect replica of a Falcon! ?
  5. "Footlong" was my screen name when I used to star in naughty movies!
  6. Oh yeah! I rented a truck to get everything moved to and from NNL East this year. U-Haul still advertises $19.99 a day, but they get $1.89 a mile! That's when I realized I had already $20 in miles just getting the truck from their lot to my house! I asked for a van and wound up with a clapped out 150,000 mile GMC 10' box truck. The darn thing shook on the turnpike, and it was a 2 1/2 hour ride each way. Not fun. The passenger door popped open whenever I hit a good size bump. I had no passenger so I tied the seat belt to it. It was missing the driver's side sun visor. All in all like borrowing your poor cousin's truck! The fun part was returning it Sunday morning. When I got there at 8:45am, there was a lot full of people. Seems the guys who were to open up never did show up! There were folks with express pickup, but there were other trucks in front of theirs! There was a couple who needed to be out of an apartment that day! I left the keys and a note in their drop off box. They finally logged my truck in at 12:30pm and tried to charge me for an extra day. Never again!
  7. I bought it new in spring of 1992. Best $10,500 I ever spent! ?
  8. Just looking at your photo above, I believe the firewall may be the culprit. I will find out soon enough as I have one of these on the bench!
  9. Have to pull it out of garage this weekend. I now work six miles from home so I may use it all summer
  10. Back to the original topic.. yes I’d say it’s a nice kit. Full detail with all separate chassis and drivetrain parts. Engine has both stock and Turbo versions. It goes together well for an enjoyable build. The kit has been reissued enough times that you should be able to find one cheap on eBay, it’s been a $5-10 kit at shows. I bought several that way. Now the evil ? thoughts.. that chassis fits under a 40 Ford sedan delivery like it was made for it. I am planning on using the turbo version under some sort of street rod and I know I’m not the first to do it!
  11. One tip- pre wire your distributor or buy one already wired. Drill holes clear into your engine where the plugs are. That way you can feed as much wire as needed into the block, rather than risk cutting wires too short. Once I have my wire where it looks right, pull it out slightly, apply your glue and push it back in. Hold it until dry so it doesn’t pop back out on you
  12. Mayans may have predicted their own demise, seeing there are none around anymore.
  13. Something went wrong there! I couldn’t edit or add text to the two posts! My rarest model is probably the rarest Mopar promo.. the 1966 Valiant Signet.
  14. A good place to steal fabric photos is the Joanne’s store website.. literally thousands of patterns!
  15. Great model! I saw it at GSL
  16. My very best to everyone who had surgery, or other health concerns! Glad everyone is on the mend!
  17. Looks Great Jim! Is it big enough to hold business cards? Could come in handy!
  18. 65 & 66 67 & 68 These are all poorly built kits in my collection...
  19. I always snipe. When you bid early all you are doing is putting a number out there for other people to try to beat! Sniping is the art of putting in a bid at the very last seconds of an auction so other bidders won't have time to react. Sometimes it's tough to impossible to be present as the auction ends, so there is software available that will do this for you. The one I use is esnipe.com, just put your bid in and forget about it!
  20. I think it's a universal thing. Last summer I ordered a set of furniture for a casual conference room at work. It comes unassembled (I expected that) via FedEx Ground. A dozen large boxes get dumped outside my building. A couple cart loads later, we have it all upstairs in the conference room, waiting for my furniture crew to be there, and have time to unpack and assemble it. With a major project going on, that came out to be two weeks. And as they got through the boxes, in the middle of it all they find a box NOT addressed to us. It was a bedframe from Walmart.com supposed to go to a residential address! We called FedEx Ground to come and get it, but it sat outside there for another week. Finally upon receiving another FedEx Ground delivery, I shamed that delivery guy into taking it with him. So some poor guy ordered a bedframe.... he gets the notice "Your package is coming today!" and may have sat and waited for it. But it never came! He checks and they tell him it was delivered! Now three weeks later, it's going to finally show up. We figure Walmart.com sent him a replacement and now he has two bedframes!
  21. I stopped into one of those chain drug stores to buy Motrin for my wife. There is one cashier, a guy about our age. Of course there is a line. There are two self service registers. One is marked out of order. There is a lady ahead of me at the cash register and is being taken care of. Self service register starts beeping. Guy leaves the register to go fix it. Self service lady finishes her purchase and he goes back to helping the lady ahead of me. Self service lady tries to leave store and whatever she bought sounds off the theft alarm at the door. Lone cashier takes off the handle that. He fiddles with what she bought, finally gives up and tells her to just leave as the alarm blares. He gets back to the register. He finishes up with the lady in front of me. My turn. So I thought. Lady exclaims, "I forgot I had a coupon!" Cashier explains that he would have to void the sale and start over. She goes for that. It takes time. She leaves. My turn. Nope, an old lady is at the self service register and it's yelling "An item you are buying requires age identification!" Cashier goes running again. Finally he checks me out. I shrug at the five people lined up behind me and leave, glad it's over. I get to the car and my wife asks, "What took you so long?"
  22. The filters are standard household items available at Lowes, Home Depot etc. Check eBay and you can buy a case at a time cheaper.
