  1. Brother is a term of endearment, as Philadelphia is the City of Brotherly Love
  2. A while back there was an aftermarket company that did that! Anyone remember? Are they around any more?
  3. Funny thing... I hadn't seen this thread for a while. When I clicked on it, this picture was the first thing I saw. I sat and admired the start of a great weathered paint job until I realized what was going on! ?
  4. Nice tutorial Steve! I do pretty much the same, but I like to use Pastel chalks. The biggest mistake people make is to over do it. And you can't really tell what the end result is while it's still wet. Do a little. Stop, wait until it dries. You can always add more. Get reference photos of cars and trucks at various stages of use. A good source is eBay Motors. Some sellers post a ton of photos including chassis shots. Save those.
  5. My local Walmart (Exton, PA) has had that same display since Christmas.
  6. Pilot programs are often a sign of good things to come
  7. I wouldn’t harm them, but they would’ve been escorted into the woods behind my house. Then everyone is happy!
  8. Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clear to the bone!
  9. Nice build! The emblem has been wrong since the kit first debuted. As it would be costly to work on the body mold, R2's attempt to correct it is the correct decals. You need to sand off the emblems before painting the body, then use the decals.
  10. If you showed me the business model for Uber 20 years ago I would have said it wasn’t possible! Not only the insurance part, but also the state requirements for taxi licensing and such. But here we are! I think Uber and such are a scam on the drivers since they figure out too late that they wear out a car before they pay for it!
  11. Took the grandkids guess where? A bit of a display PA Turnpike the next day
  12. I had an interesting delivery experience. I was ready to back out of my driveway about 7:30 the other morning and a black sedan zooms up, parks across my driveway and gets out quickly. He’s a big guy dressed in black. He leaves his door open and starts walking towards me with a flat package. He asks, “Are you Thomas Geiger?” I timidly answer yes. He says, I have something here you need to sign for.” I’m thinking this guy is a plain clothes cop or I’m being served papers. He holds out a tablet for me to sign.. I ask, “And what is this?” Amazon!
  13. Tidbit was a nasty little poodle, despite having a pleasant sounding moniker.
  14. “Person overboard!” Yelled the captain because it’s not politically proper to yell “Man Overboard!” anymore
  15. Pronunciation is very important and can be the difference between making a sale or getting poked in the face
  16. This was the first Christmas season that my local Walmart had kits. Soon after the holidays guys were reporting these hitting the clearance aisle for $2-5 a kit.. but my store? Nooo! They still have the aisle end display at full price! Exton PA store
  17. My 3 granddaughters are here. The oldest is 6 and the twins are 4. Spent the day in the pool with them. Tomorrow we all go to Hershey Park. Life is good!
  18. Lookin good! One of my favorite old kits. I was never a fan of the door fit or hinges. I think you got past that by wisely making your own hinges and adding the magnets
  19. Me thinks I’m not a city dweller
  20. Easier model kits can be purchased by those without skill or those who are just lazy
  21. I don't like the precalculated tip chart that goes from 18 to 25%. Kinda nervy! But as they say those of us who once worked for tips tip well for good service.
  22. Lions usually just chew up and spit out cranky old codgers
  23. Workshop problems are usually caused by numpties!
