I thought it was Twilight Zone where you had the parallel universe stores in New Jersey and Virginia where items were on the very same hook! ?

Any chance of seeing this 1962 chrysler
Tom Geiger replied to robo37's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I remember way back when, I met Bill Laskowich of Revell at a show.. don’t remember the year but Revell was showing test shot for the Caprice police car and taxi at the event. He indicated that they had the Mopars.. Chrysler, Dart, Valiant.. but they were missing tooling.. it may have been the glass or tires. If Atlantis has these tools, neither is insurmountable. If I remember correctly when Model King paid to resurrect the 59 Chrysler, they used a standard Round 2 tire and modified the wheels to fit that. The tires and wheels were wonky on the Revell kits so that would be a welcome solution. -
Gotta go around! ?

Yup! Folks will complain that the model companies do nothing to attract kids, but when Revell came out with the snap kits, same folks will complain that the money was wasted and could've been used to tool up some 1948 Kaiser or something... I started to type something earlier about how the fossils in this hobby chase away anyone younger who dares to enter... especially if they want to build more modern subjects, but I started to talk about experience and that would involve naming names and I don't wanna go there! But it's not exclusive to model building. I'm a stamp collector and belong to a local stamp club. We've been meeting via Zoom and we had a meeting this past Tuesday. Stamp community is approx ten years older overall than our clan. In fact, at 63 I'm the youngest person at the meetings. The topic went to things we could do to increase membership... one goober pushed to move our meetings (in person meetings have always been 7pm on a Tuesday, once a month) to afternoon hours... because there "might" be an old guy or two who doesn't drive after dark who "may" attend meetings. He had nobody in mind. He completely discounted that two of us on the call still work full time and would quit the club. I explained this to the meeting, and stated that limiting membership to retired people would be the kiss of death for the club. It would eliminate any chance of the next generations joining and keeping it alive. Kinda fell on deaf ears!

f Some loser boosted the yellow box car from this set. HL reduced the set from $159.99 to $79.99 and here it sat in the clearance center! That was my last visit, nothing good automotive to report!

Sounds like my wife's brother! He was on the phone with us and told us he bought his daughter a car. I asked what kind... he didn't know and offered that it was a red one. Then he put the phone down, no doubt went outside to look... came back and said, "It's a Ford!' My reply, "What model?" He was stumped once again... turns out it was a Focus. didn't matter though, reckless daughter totaled it in a few weeks! And my wife knows she drives a big silver car. When we are together she follows me in the parking lot. Once she complained I passed the car.. she's pointing at a Honda Accord. Nope! We have a Buick LaCrosse!

I just had this vision of someone contacting Round 2 to ask for an A Pillar!

I’d be happy if they enacted identity to reactions. This is the only board I’m on that doesn’t.

Ralph Kramden smart!

I had a 78 Mercury Monarch that was that awful Ford color we called “off silver” because it soon flaked off! I sanded down the entire car and had it painted Dove Gray. It looked super!

I'm good until 212! Funny thing.. the magazine came September 2nd. I intended to read it that night. Wife moved it... and out of sight, out of mind! I came across it on Sunday sitting in a pile of already read magazines in my office. so I read it! Great issue! I enjoyed every bit. The interview with Atlantis was worth the price of the entire magazine!

Cool! I recently completed a '36 convertible in that same two tone!

Just mentioning... A shout out to Larry Greenberg for the interview with the Atlantis owners in the current issue of Model Cars Magazine! Very nice history, and a great overview of who they are, what they have done for our hobby so far and where they intend to go! The article is worth the price of the magazine! So if you haven't seen it, get a copy!

The State Farm commercial with the girl Parker delivering pizza. Aside from being really cute.. I always laugh at “and a side of ranch”.
