  1. Mine arrived in the Philly suburbs on Friday 11-5. i don’t have any issues with the content. It’s good to have a magazine regularly.
  2. Yes! Saved searches are screwed! Mine started coming back with totally wrong results because the categories are gone!
  3. Pony Cars Over the past six decades, pony cars have become a uniquely American obsession, bringing a youthful spirit to the automotive world. These stamps celebrate five iconic U.S. automobiles — the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302, the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, the 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT and the 1969 AMC Javelin SST. The bold and dramatic artwork, painted with oils on panel, captures the energy and mystique of pony cars. Zack Bryant designed the stamps with original art by Tom Fritz. Greg Breeding was the artist. As a stamp collector I’m pleased, and I thought this was good news to report here since I see many of the past car stamps on mail from model car folks!
  4. Great model! Funny thing that I never owned a Beetle.. don’t know why! My father had a red one as his scoot around post car when we lived in Germany back 1969-72
  5. Nobody is upset! It’s a conversation. If you were hustling at car shows and you made a few dollars and made people happy, more power to you!
  6. Low 30s in the burbs west of Philly this morning! Had to scrape the car windows for the first time this season!
  7. Like plastic doggies ? ? ?
  8. Great looking Chevy!
  9. Back in the 1990s there was a guy who owned a chopped 49 Mercury who called himself Fonzie. There was a little model car show attached to Lead East back then. A young guy did a replica of this fellow’s Merc. The car and owner were at the outside car show when someone must’ve told him to take a look at the model. The guy went nutz on the poor kid! This was HIS car, HIS copyrighted design etc. it took a couple of guys to calm him down and get him off the kid. There’s always one idiot!
  10. Agreed! Closest I’ve come was for my department secretary many years ago. Her husband had a 68 GTO in Verdoro Green and I knew of a diecast the right color. I added his license plates from the Acme plate maker and it was a hit! I’ve built kits to give away, but that’s a whole different subject!
  11. Ollie’s is a close out store. They’ll put them on the shelf at the $10 price. I dunno if they’re overstock from Round 2, but due to the volume of all the Ollies stores they are probably a special run made for them.
  12. Oh I just knew there’d be a lively conversation! ?
  13. Last weekend I was sitting at a red light at a major intersection. I hear sirens coming fast, but I don’t know from what direction.. or if on my road or the cross street, so when the light turned green, me and the other two cars (3 lanes) sit still and wait. The numpty behind me lays on his horn hard, which startled me a bit since I was listening to the siren. I looked in my rear view mirror and could see him cursing and flailing his arms. Right then an ambulance with the trauma truck right behind it zooms up on my left in the empty left turn lane and they cut right, across the front of all of us and head down the cross street. Fortunately we were holding traffic still.
  14. I went through similar frustrations when I was researching Jeepsters. I was finding trucks attributed to various years with different configurations and accessories. I decided that these must be trucks assembled with parts from different years, maybe to the owners taste. I finally gave up and built mine to my own tastes! ? I’ve built several of that Jeep kit. It dates back to 1968 as the Universal Dune Buggy kit, so it’s probably a 1967 or earlier body. The later long nose Jeep with sidelights embedded in front fenders is depicted in the Monogram 1/24 scale Jeep CJ7, although a quick glance at a box doesn’t look like the longer wheelbase. I do have a long wheelbase Jeep in progress, but with a custom fabricated rear box, a replica of a real truck. What I will tell you is that the correct long wheelbase chassis is in the Jeepster / Commando kit. It even has the rear mounted gas tank. Note that when MPC modified the Jeepster kit to the later and less popular Commando, they cheaped out and didn’t stretch the nose, nor did they tool up the straight six. The kit incorrectly still has the old Buick based V6 in it.
  15. An outsiders perspective.. and by a woman! When I saw the title I expected to see a by-line of someone we know! https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/g37963078/best-model-car-kits/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=arb_ga_pop_m_bm_g37963078&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIk6arr5zy8wIVFuWzCh39Cw_YEAMYASAAEgLbVfD_BwE
  16. That does look great!
