  1. Watching! I have a 1960 GMC project I’m itching to do, but trying to clean up a bunch of unfinished projects first.
  2. The two local storefronts that I thought would be ideal locations for my imaginary hobby shop are now vape shops. Sad state when vaping is more popular than hobbies!
  3. I’m getting the same thing. Calls and emails daily from India. They are legit, seems US firms are using offshore resources for cold calling. My resume lists software I use in my industry, so I get tons of IT inquiries. I’m on the East Coast, they’ll be pushing West Coast jobs with no clue of the geography. When there’s something local, I’ll get a dozen or more contacts that day.
  4. Agreed Dan, thanks! Kudos to your event, you sure we’re able to rock with the virus!
  5. Neat! There are maybe a dozen variations of that kit with different vending. I have a few of them.
  6. I found that the BSI CA glues sanded at a different rate than the putty / styrene around it. I just made a mess of it.
  7. Upon finishing the Valiant Speedster, I found my Datsun pickup in its box, just needing some final details to get it into my display case. Yes that is the Foose pickup chassis, I shortened to fit the Datsun pickup wheelbase. I figured out how to mount the radiator and upper hose. I added side marker lights onto the body and now am fiddling with minor details in the engine bay.
  8. Those are cool. I have a 63 Valiant sticker that came completely from the parts box!
  9. Very nice. I have a built Ramcharger and have a kit set aside to do a Trail Duster. I’ve just never ordered the parts.
  10. I love the edge warning paint! Cool and I wouldn’t want to drive off it!
  11. Super work! The 36 isn’t as visible as the earlier Fords, which only makes it cooler to see!
  12. My big issue is scribing the panel line through putty. On my Valiant Speedster I had to scribe the back hood line and tops of the doors through the areas where I had put together the pieces from two different bodies. No matter what I used, my scriber or exacto blade, the edges of the putty would crumble rather than cutting cleanly. I just kept reapplying putty into the seam and trying again until I got an acceptable result. Still not perfect.
  13. It’s for the best. Large events have a lot of moving pieces. There is a significant investment and lots of man hours into planning an event. It involves bringing people together from across the country and international visitors. Mixing those who have been diligent with those who refuse to comply. Do you want to referee that? There is also a question of host liability. Officers of organizations can be sued if anything goes wrong. Standard insurance policies aren’t covering Covid related issues. And it ain’t over! While it seems to be getting better, that could change on a dime. Look at India. Our NNL East team hopes all is well for our April 2022 show. And we’re hoping for one heck of a party! Be safe and see you all healthy next spring!
  14. Whoa! That’s downright gorgeous!
  15. Sorry to hear Alan! But you will land on your feet! My wife had heart surgery six years ago. Two weeks after she returned to work, she got laid off. I’ve been sitting out the Covid mess, but recruiters have been finding me. I had a good interview a few weeks ago and recruiter said they were putting together an offer. This week? The guy who wanted to hire me got fired! I may start looking. I’m tired of being home.
  16. Very cool.. can’t wait to see the next steps towards the diorama
  17. Then I’m a complete moron! I have tons of duplicates bought right. It started right from the beginning.. I was building my first model as an adult, an AMT 57 Ford and screwed up a few things. I bought a second kit to supply the parts to finish my model. So it began.. I figured a second kit was good insurance. And what happened to that parts kit? + I used the front seat and glass on my model. + The suspension is under my blue old custom restoration. I used hood, wheels and tires on same car. + The roof is on my green old custom. + I sent out the engine and doors to people needing them. Someone wanted the wheel wells to transplant onto a Revell body. So that extra kit was pretty useful.
  18. They were made by a Best Models, not the same company as the current Best Model Parts Company. Unfortunately both guys involved with this operation have passed away. I’m not sure if Okey has anything going currently. Note that the dashboard would be unique but the rest of the interior could be taken from a Chevy Tri-Five kit with some panel pattern definition.
  19. Thank you everyone! It did come out better than I anticipated and I’m pleased with the results. Roger, thanks for IDing the wheels. Must be from the Duster kit since I have a parts kit.
