  1. Very cool review and model, as I have come to expect from Faust! My first impression of the side view of that plane was it sort of looked like a slightly sleeker FW-190, except for the clean fuselage line being disturbed by the engine housing. Thanks for bringing this one to our attention!
  2. MUCH improved!
  3. Loving the concept! This has has the look and feel of the early 60s customs that filled the little pages of magazines of the time. Lots of outrageous styling risks and tons of fun!
  4. Really great looking custom build. I especially like the interior colors against that gorgeous body paint! Tasteful and believable design. Well done. Got to try a can of that color, maybe over a dark blue base to render a grape jelly kind of purple...
  5. +1 on STYNYLREZ. Catchy name, from STYrene, viNYL, and REZin. OK, the "Z" is just someone trying to be kewl! ?
  6. Can you post a picture of that, please? It sounds familiar, and might help jog some memories!
  7. Nostalgia! The Badman was the car that made me fall in love with model cars. I had an uncle that built model cars, and I'd see them on a high shelf out of reach of curious young hands...(Lesson 1: those cars are NOT for playing. They are NOT toys.) Then one day, he hands down to me his latest build, and teaches me how to gently but firmly hold a model without damaging it. I barely heard a word he said because I was in awe of this amazing yellow machine in my hand. I was sure this thing would roar out of my hands in a blast of tire smoke and rocket-like exhaust flame.( I was little, I didn't understand how cars worked!) The strong colors, yellow with red glass, I mean, come on...RED GLASS! The bold racing graphics, the way the front and rear were lifted up, the chrome, it all was sensory overload for my young mind. I would have my own within the next year, and even though this wasn't the first model car I would build, it remains a favorite in my memory. This one, the Quicksilver wagon, and the Paddy Wagon, were just inspirational for me back then. Still love 'em today, warts and all.
  8. Looking sweeeeeet! I always liked the custom grille from this kit, but I swear yours is the only one I've ever seen without huge sink marks in the plastic that just ruins the look!
  9. Agreed, but how would you open the hood on that thing??!!?
  10. Great looking model, and a fun thread to watch unfold. Thanks for posting and congrats on a job well done.
  11. Fuel line looks spot-on from here. Too many well intentioned modelers err on the side of overscaled hose and line details, and I find it detracts from otherwise good modeling. I'd rather see none than oversized. Yours is looking quite accurate so far! Nice job.
  12. Very clean and stylish appearance. Well done!
  13. Very nice! Love the warm white color you used for the body. Well done.
  14. Big Mopars look seriously cool in red. Gorgeous build.
  15. Very clean build, and looks great in those colors! Well done.
  16. Nice find, Can-Con! I wonder how long since those custom parts were available? I don't think I've ever seen them.
  17. I totally get where you're coming from. I think the popularity of some of the recent re-releases from round two stems from more builders focusing on the shelf appearance of the final piece. Curbside builds have come full circle. There are still plenty of details to focus on to making a curbside look realistic, and a huge percentage of models are viewed sitting in their case or on a shelf. (I'd rather no one picked up my models to flip them over! ) Nice job on that Caprice. Those body styles are near and dear to me, as my late dad had an Impala that year or thereabouts with the cool wrap-around back glass.
  18. Agreed, and the 3 staggered-height carbs with custom scoops are very well done and make for some real eye candy!
  19. Unreal build quality!! I'm looking at the planes, and I had to remind myself these are 1/350 scale!!! Mind-blowing attention to detail. Congrats on finishing this amazing piece.
  20. Very nicely done! Love this model, and your display is a wonderful tribute. Good detail work here really brought it to life.
  21. White vinyl with blue carpets would stand out and keeps the color scheme of the exterior. It's a cannonball restomod, so room for artistic license!
  22. Maybe the old Palmer custom Corvette?
  23. Just came across this and love it! Sharp builds, and I have to agree that we need more kits of Indy racers in 1/25. You've made what's available look its very best. WELL DONE.
  24. Excellent builds, and great looking cars. Well done on both!
  25. That thing is a hoot!! I love the funky styling of these Citroëns; so utilitarian. I just missed a deal on the Heller kit on ebay, but I'm going to keep an eye out. What are your thoughts on the kit? Is it accurate, well proportioned, assemble well, etc?
