  1. I really like the "new 510" design. It looks to me like maybe some of the car companies are trying to get away from the beige look they all have anymore. I'd love to see an updated version of an early 70's Celica
  2. GIMP is pretty good. You can get a modded version called GIMPshop that makes it more like Photoshop. Paint.net is also pretty nifty. Both are freeware.
  3. The color on this is outstanding. Looks excellent.
  4. I like it. If I can't get Duplicolor primers, that's what I use. And it works fine under the Duplicolor paints as well.
  5. I only destroyed the ones that were screwed up somehow. Firecrackers, M80's, BB gun and/or .22 rifle. Ones that were badly painted, missing parts, etc. Of course, when I tried to "outgrow" model cars later on I left all of my cars behind. So I have no idea what happened to them. Probably some rare kits now....
  6. Their cars vary from one to the next. The Monte Carlo's engine was terrible. Their suspension is brilliant, though.
  7. Nice work!
  8. Definitely the Galaxie 46-48 Chevy, first kit I ever built where everything almost fell into place. Seems like you can just throw paint and glue in the box and shake really hard and a completed model will fall out.
  9. I would think wiping them off with alcohol should be okay. Not sure about the decals. I usually use a white gel ink pen for the letters.
  10. 39 Wagon Rod has a nice engine. I nabbed the one out of one I butchered to use in my Camaro concept kit. The reverse of this being, the engine in the AMT 2006 Camaro Concept is worthless.
  11. Never melted a model doing this. I've melted my share of cassette and CD cases in my various cars, though.
  12. I so want one of these. I love Tamiya kits, and the Jag's gorgeous.
  13. What about making molds from the existing pieces and casting replacements out of clear acrylic? Are they close enough in shape that they could be flipped from one side to the other if you cast duplicates?
  14. Wicked looking. I love it!
  15. Lookin good! Love the color
  16. It depends on what you're using it for. I used some on my Monogram Lamborghini Countach for the side windows and it came out awesome. I covered the whole part with a piece of the foil, then trimmed out the windows from the "frame".
  17. AMT 1/12 1937 Cord. It's a little damaged, but I can rebuild it. Not bad for $15.
  18. That's nifty! Looks like it'd be a blast to buzz through the desert.
  19. Got a Revell Ferrari 612 Scaglietti for $11 including the shipping.
  20. Very nice build. I'm gonna have to find one of these.
  21. I would hope that eventually all of these would be rescued. It's a shame to leave them to rot.
  22. How about some oddballs, like a Kaiser or a "bathtub" Nash? Personally, I'd love to see some cars from the other GM divisions and Chrysler. I'd really love to get a '56 Mercury.
  23. Gold BMF? I've got some at home, but haven't tried it yet.
  24. I think the one that surprised me the most was the Lancia Stratos that was sitting in someone's back yard. That one had been one of the Alitalia cars, and I think it had been the one to win the 1976 Monte Carlo Rally (if I'm mistaken please correct me)
  25. This makes me sad... http://jalopnik.com/this-collection-of-abandoned-racecars-will-break-your-h-1446646131
