george 53 replied to VW Dave's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Could you fake one by useing a 48th scale rear end?? Doesn't look like it'd be too hard to scratchbuild. -

YES, DO NOT put ANYTHING on the BOTTOM TRAYS!!! It WILL melt! You did good with the extra height of the trays. I cut about 3 of my trays to be able to fit taller semi cabs. They work GREAT. Leave them overnite for enamels. I'm TOLD that laquers dry even faster! You'll LIKE useing it! -

A 265 HEMI???? Gotta be an Oz car! They's the ONLY folks cool enough to build somethin like that! Came out nice, BUT, an this is JUST ME, the color tends to blend EVERYTHING together. A little bit of contrasting color woulda given it a bit more zip. But it came out REAL nice. Nice clean building style an very well done.

Scratchbuilding: What's your philosophy?
george 53 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I always remember wat "Lil John" Buttera once said about billet. "Just cut away anything that doesn't look like the final product!" He was building mirrors for his son's 69 Camaro, and they asked him HOW he designed and built them out of billet aluminum. We work in plastic, but the idea is the same. I LIKE your tools. Don't need or have use for a lathe though. Ain't got those types of ambitions! -
You found a buildable one in OZ????? Now THAT'S a story!!!! Wait a min.... did you get it offa the 'Bay??? Oh well, ANOTHER fine model I missed out on!!!! Gonna watch this one, I always liked that kit, even IF i didn't win it!!!!

Had doggies ALL my life, single and married, an i ain't never smaked one for bein a dog! They only tear up what they can reach, an I build onna table high enough they won't/can't jump on it(they're NOT cats!) My Bouve, Bruce, would set his chin on my table and watch, but since he went home, I've only had smaller dogs(Brucie pooped like a PEOPLE!). Tim, and Freddie, an now Raylan are/were too short to reach my workbench. But they sat/sit at my feet in my model room when I'm workin in there. Heck, they sit at my feet even when I'm NOT workin in there!

CHEV CREW-CAB
george 53 replied to SPIKE426's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Robt, is this a REAL truck from Oz??? Here, they make a 4 dr extended cab, but NOT a 2Dr version on an extended cab wheelbase. It's cool idea, but not really practical here. Is it an ACTUAL body design(I know they do do thinks differently over there) or just a flight of your own fancy? either way it's still cool!!! -
Looks pretty good ta me!
