Beautifully done, but you should warn people to wear sunglasses for that excellent paint job.!!!

Thank you Sam and Cliff. Saving these old kits is very rewarding and they look great on the shelf. Al

Thanks guys. I impressed myself with this one, considering what I started with. Al

I bought this AMT Riviera for $15.00 off ebay. It was brush painted flat black primer with red finish coats. I had to soak it in Purple Power for a week to get all the paint off. All the chrome was redone using BMF. I repainted this one using Tamiya's grey primer, Tamiya's Mica Silver with Testors wet look clear top coat. The interior was done with Tamiya's flat light blue and the windows were tinted using Tamiya's clear blue. All painting was done using rattle cans. I also change the wheels to the Buick mags. All in all, a very rewarding restoration. Thanks for looking. Al

Beautiful as always Alan!!! -
After spending a week in Purple Power to remove the red brush paint and a flat black primer, The bidy and interior is down to bare plastic. I replaced the broken windshield post and I primed the body with Tamiya's grey primer. Tomorrow I'll head to the LHS to get my body paint. I never know what color I'm painting it until I all they have. I'm still leaning towards the silever blue, but that could change. Thanks for looking. Al

I couldn't wait for Revell to do this one, so I bought the newly release Jimmy Flinstone resin trans-kit. This is a well done kit, that is made for the Revell 57 Ford kit. Everything from the Revell kit fits like a glove. I painted this one Tamiya's Italian Red and Black with Testors Wet Look Clear top coat. The interior was done by removing everything from the drivers door back. I titnted the glass with Tamiya's clear blue and made the rear window with a piece of clear sheet plastic. Oh by the way, I took my time with one and spent 3 days to build. I highly recommend this trans-kit. Al

I'm restoring a 63 Riviera screw buttom I won on ebay for $15.00. It's 100% complete and best of all it was brush painted back in 63. It will be going into the Purple Power this evening to be stripped down to it's bare plastic glory. I'm thinking a nice Silver Blue with a Pale Blue interior. I've been looking for one of these for a long time and I can't wait to get started. Al

24 Hour Build: Jody Ridley '68 Falcon Short Tracker
Porscheman replied to roadhawg's topic in Model Cars
I followed your build on facebook, beautifully done. Tom Gieger was trying get me registered for the 24 build, but it didn't happen. There's always next year. -
Thanks you Scott and Dan. Here are the some outside pictures I took today. Hope you like my 10 minute paint job. Al

Thank you everyone. I really liked doing this quick build and I think the Danbury Mint's wire wheels really set this build off. I gotta find more of these. Carl, I just glued the wheels to the drum brakes and use some small hub caps for the centers. Al

Thank guys. Actually it was 5 minute for the paint job and 5 minutes drying time in front of a heater. Al

I was going to enter the 24 hour build on Facebook, but I didn't get in in time. So I decided to do it anyways. I started at noon today with a brand new Olds kit. I painted it Testors flaming orange lacquer and then 3 coats of Testors wet look clear lacquer. The interior was done in Tamiya's primer grey and the windows were tinted witn Tamiya's clear red. The tires and wheels are from a Danbury Mint 55 Cadillac, an ebay find. BMF all over and polished out with The Treatment model wax. Let me know what you think. Al

I don't know about the drying time for enamel, I only paint with Testors lacquers or Tamiya' s spray rattle cans. These two with the heater, dry for polishing in 5 minutes. Hope this helps. Al
